Useful & Well Built

Being a senior, recreational paddler, one needs all the help available. This leash gives me one less thing to worry about when onboarding from the floating dock and when offboarding onto the permanent dock. Until my husband installed a swim ladder to the dock, I would unleash the paddle and set it on the dock, then leash the kayak to dock bumpers to keep it from floating away while I struggled to pull myself back onto the dock. Very useful item indeed. I'm ordering another for my husband.

Get one - you won't regret it!

I flipped my kayak in flood waters several years ago. I thought both kayak and paddle were lost as the kayak was pinned against some blow down and the paddle was no where to be seen. Turns out it was snagged on the bottom of the mass keeping the kayak from being freed. When it was pried off, there was no damage to the kayak, the paddle or the leash. I'm replacing it now because I lost it last winter and don't like its replacement from this summer.

Can't tell it's even there

The first reviewer is spot on. I have three paddles two are high dollar carbon ones and if you're going to spend that kinda money on a paddle it's best to protect it and keep hold of it. I never can tell this is attached to me or paddle and never gets in my way. I've even used this to clip my kayak handle and the other end velcoed to a small tree or limb while outta kayak encase tide or river rises. It always returns to it's original shape.

overboard but not lost

Lost an expensive paddle in a Class III rapid a couple of years ago. Would not have happened if I had this product. Like the coiled lead as straight ones weere forever getting in my way. (actually gave them away so i could use this one exclusively.) Now pruchasing a second one for New England paddling as I left other for Florida paddles. Super good procuct. Same complain though keeping it from a 5. Plastic clip is not goiing to hold up over time. A metal carabiner type would be much better.

Works well

Does the job. I like the coiled leash. It keeps any excess from getting in the way. The clip is plastic, which is why I gave this 4 star rather than 5. Time will tell how it holds up.

Protect Your Investment

Paddle leashes are great to have when you are taking a break and dont want to have to pay attention to your expensive paddle. Hook it up to this little babysitter and reel in a fish. What? Your paddle is in the water? No problem, grab the end of the leash you hooked to your craft and the appendage is quickly recovered.

it works

I am a flat water kayak paddler. I like to enjoy the scenery and take many pictures. Occasionally my idle paddle grabs the water and begins to slip overboard. The leash keeps it within reach. This is a great product, I bought one for a friend.

Easy to forget!

I've had one of these for about a decade now. The leash stays out of the way, seems to be plenty strong against UV. I've never had any problem with this, with the possible exception of forgetting my paddle was still attached to me!

Don't leave home without it

It made the whole difference of keeping my $300+ paddle or having it washed ashore someplace in San Francisco Bay. Indispensable, especially if solo kayaking.

Buy it once..

what can I say...Northwater product that functions better than anything else of similar design on the market. Easy to install velcro system and the coil is bomber in comparison to other bungee cord system. Considering the cost of a paddle and the old adage...what's your life/paddle worth....[$] is dirt cheap.
