Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Not 100% down filled. The tag on the jacket I bought shows “Down (80% Minimum)” whereas the listing has it as 650-fill-power down with no mention on the percentage of down. I purchased the one color that was on sale and what I got is a second. Nowhere does the listing say it’s a second. There are 3 parts of this jacket that the sewing is messed up. Both inside pockets have an unfinished strip rather than being lined with nylon, and one side also has the lining bunched up like they miscalculated or cut it out wrong. I’ll likely keep it as it functions ok for my needs and the price was good. In April 2022 I purchased this jacket when they called it REI Co-op 650 Down Jacket 2.0. I mainly wear it indoors during winter - I hate being cold but live in MN. It has numerous patches from being torn but the zippers all work, it’s comfortable, warm, and the price was good compared to similar jackets. The main reason I got another one is the price was right and the first one has served me well - still does but now I have a choice of colors, and it will eventually wear out.
It does what it’s supposed to. Only time will talk as far as it holding up, but it’s a warm jacket. I don’t know if the other reviewers have just not tried, but it 100% folds up in its own pocket. For the price, I don’t think you can beat it when you can but two of these for the price of one of the others.
Good jacket for the price. Bought it for an Iceland trip. Packs down well, meaning you can jam it in a pretty full suitcase for the plane ride. Fits well, allows movement. Semi water resistant, kept out the light rain, wouldn't use it for a downpour. Easy to add a layer over and under for warmth. Decent job of wind resistance, up to maybe 10 mph does ok. After that if it's cold (and it's cold in Iceland with the wind blowing, but you know that) you need a layer over it. Good size pockets for gloves and other stuff. Good all around travel jacket, for excursions to places where it's mid 30's (that's in fahrenheit) and above.
I'm very happy with my new REI Co-op down jacket. Nice color and fit. It's very light and I'll wear it often. I'd read the reviews and thought I'd add my two pennies. I will probably not often find the need to stuff it into its own pocket but thought I'd try. It easily stuffs in and with just a little extra effort, it zips up. Unzips even more easily. If zipping the jacket into its own pocket is important to you, please know that it's very doable.
I have numerous brands, insulation types and weights, but for durability and price point, this is a good jacket. I've put it through its paces in numerous locations and various activities, and it hasn't let me down.
I got this jacket in a last minute rush before a trip to the Enchantments, and happened to score it on a sale for $70. I could have bought 4 for the price of one Pata-gucci puffer, and I like this jacket better. The baffles are spaced out just enough to give more surface area for insulation and less for stitching, It packs down small on itself, keeps me warm on cold nights in the mountains, and it's generally my favorite coat. I've had it for a year and a half with one washing and it still wears like new. With light weight comes light material. I did snag it on some chicken wire, but a Bigfoot patch from REI fixed that and actually made it cooler. But I wouldn't wear it in heavy brush or for other high abrasion activities. For backpacking, hiking, or apres ski swag, I can't think of a better jacket.
This is exactly what I was hoping for: a light down jacket for warmth and room for layering. The fabric is waterproof and windproof. The outer pockets have zippers to keep items safe; the inside pockets are not zippered. It has an adjustable bungee cord at the inside bottom opening to keep the wind out. The zipper is one way, meaning you can't open it from the bottom. It has a locker loop at the inside back neck seam for hanging, as slippery nylon fabrics don't stay on a hooks. It fits true to size (I bought XL for my son with a 46.5" chest). I like that REI works with Blue Sign, with oversight on environmentally preferred materials and practices in apparel manufacturing. We prefer to reuse or shop used, but you can't always find what you need in a thrift shop. REI is a trusted name that I have know for decades.
I purchased this as an everyday jacket and not a trail gear piece since it was a good price during a sale. Stratus grey color is nice and is neutral. Good pockets including two large open top pockets inside which are great for gloves or a phone. Main complaint would be that it is not as warm as I expected. Below about 40 degrees Fahrenheit I have to add a fleece layer underneath. The outer fabric sheds light precipitation for short exposures. If it is windy, it does layer under a shell fine. Other complaint is that is loses feathers more than any other down coat I have. For what I bought it for, it does a decent job for the price.
Significant Downgrade from the 2020 version of the same coat, I will be returning it :( Very disappointed, this 2023 version has multiple problems that did not exist in past years. A few examples are the much smaller side pockets which now scrape/scratch your hands with zipper teeth when taking them in or out, looser elastic wrist cuffs so the sleeves hang too low & a much more pronounced 'inner sleeve hemline' which is very noticeable against your arms when wearing with a short sleeve shirt underneath. I really hope the flaws are corrected in the next version, I would love to return to this brand if so.
Bought this on a trip to Seattle and my luggage was already full but this packs so well. It's also the first jacket that's actually fit me perfectly. I'm a fat lesbian and XXL fits perfectly. Sleeves are only a little too long but I'm used to that. 5/5 stars.
