I have a few hikes in and appreciate the soft but responsive feel as well as the wide Vibram Sole, very stable with great grip.
Overall, really happy with this purchase so far. Lugs are huge and super grippy, shoe has a bit of a wider fit to it in the toe box, and the layer of protected ZoomX foam is incredible (one of the reasons I purchased) for a soft ride. The shoe feels sturdier than some Hoka hikers Iāve had in the past. They arenāt fully waterproof, but the lower half of the shoe is, which is really all i need for shallow streams and puddles. The platform/sole is very large, and feels incredibly stable. I thought it may want more ankle support in a shoe, but these are so stable that Iām not wishing I had a higher upper. Going on a more technical hike here soon, and Iāll be here to provide an update if anything changes.
I have only taken the shoes on two hikes so far but they feel great out of the box and do not need any break in. The fit is similar to other Nike shoes. They feel both light on my feet and as cushioned as the Zegama trail running shoes. The lacing system works well and I like the cuff around the ankles.
