Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious & Eco-Friendly As an avid backpacker and environmentalist, I look for delicious meals that are easy on the environment after you're finished eating. Being a vegan narrows the choice even further. With that said, MJF meals fit the bill perfectly! This meal (despite what others have said) are well seasoned and taste delicious. This one is certified organic and vegan. The pouch it comes in is wonderful. Open it up, pour in boiling water, let it sit a few minutes (the bottom expands so it can sit on its own) and enjoy. Once you're finished, the entire package can be burned in your campfire...no aluminum in this one. MJF will be my go-to meal whenever I hit the trail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tastes like home cooking Mary Janes Farm is one of the few brands that makes meals that taste like they're filled with real ingredients, hearty vegetables, and plenty of food after 18-20 miles. I added raisins and salmon to mine, which made it perfect. I held the paper packet between my hands to keep it warm (sometimes they lose heat if it's cold out compared to the other brands, but the upside is you can burn the paper bag and cut down on how much weight you carry out).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lunch. I had this for lunch yesterday and I thought it was great. A ton of solid carbs with some protein and vegan. I thought that the taste was fine, c'mon it's a freeze dried meal that was prepared in less than 10 minutes. I'd have this over a Mountain House any day. I'm actually ordering more of this flavor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Vegan Option I've only tried this brand and backpackers pantry. Mary Jane Farms was the superior choice in my opinion.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just OK Pros: organic, vegan, easy to make, great company Cons: VERY bland I've tried Lentils/Rice, Beans and Rice, and Curry in a Hurry from MJF. This one was my least favorite. It was very bland but bearable. I made it to the last 1/4 of the pouch when I realized that it had currants (like raisins) in it. I must not have mixed it well enough. These actually added the much needed flavor to the dish but I can see where some may still not be satisfied. Perhaps adding a few more currants/raisins or using this as more of a side dish would help.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tasty Meal, Serious Gas The food was tasty, make sure to mix it well after adding hot water. No good way to put it- I had seriously extreme gas for 24 hours after eating this. So did my camping partner. But hey, it's the outdoors, didn't hurt anyone.
