Excellent Pad Thai !!

I was rlly hungry when i tried this , and it wad the first time using my new msr windburner. After my first successful outdoor boil, I transferred water to bag, stirred and let sit . I split one bag with a friend and we were both satisfied with the way it tasted . Serving size was chill . Could prob eat a whole bag myself if hiking all day, my friend said the same .

Resteraunt quality food while in the mountains

Just got this the other day for my big snowmachine ride to denali national park, and boy did it not disappoint. Perfect blend of sweet and spicy, with larger chunks of real white chicken meat! The peppers in it add a good pop, and are not tart or bitter like other freeze dried peppers I have had. This will now be one of my go to adventure meals, or forgot to go shopping dinner with my wife meals.

I Dig It

I really like this one; lots of flavor & easy to eat. As with most of these, following instructions is key. Add 12oz of boiling water & vigorously stir to fully rehydrate meal & then seal; stir again after 5 minutes & reseal; wait another 10 minutes & it’s good to go.

Very tasty

My wife, 14-yr-old daughter, and I were curious to try this relatively new Pad Thai with Chicken and also the Curry with Chicken. The Mountain House Homestyle Chicken Noodle (formerly named Chicken a la King) and Chicken and Dumplings have been two of our favorite Mountain House dinners when backpacking. To directly compare both the Pad Thai and the Curry with Chicken before a backpacking trip next month, we made a package of each as part of our dinner at home this evening. My wife and I loved this Pad Thai; it might even rival "The King" as our favorite Mountain House dinner! My daughter is sensitive to spicy foods and found the Pad Thai a little too spicy, but she did eat all of her sample (1/3 of a 2-serving package) so it was within her tolerance. The spice takes a minute or two to hit, and my wife and I really liked the spice. The texture also is quite good. We all liked the Curry very much, as well, but my wife and I found it a bit less interesting than the Pad Thai. We have often found that many of the Mountain House dinners require 5-10% less water than specified in the directions; that seemed to be the case for both the Pad Thai and the Curry with Chicken. We're excited to eat both outdoors next month!

Will be buying again!

I really liked this Pad Thai meal better than some of the other Mountain House meals I've tried. It had a little bit of spice which was a nice change compared to the relatively bland food in some of the other meals. My stomach is sensitive to some of the dehydrated meals and this one did not have me running to the bathroom! Absolutely a huge plus when you're in the woods!

Packing Smart

My family and I are planning a backpacking trip, so we decided to order random backpacking meals and try them before the trip. This was one of our choices. It was one of our favorites, and we will be buying it for our trip.

Tasty and filling.

Used it for lunch while backpacking in an area where no open fires were allowed. Loved it. It was flavorful and filling. Bought it because I need gf food. Did not have a reaction to it. Love having options like this!

Highly Recommended!!

An excellent take on an Asian meal. I appreciate that MH does not add peanuts to this meal. I'm not allergic but due to Diverticulosis, peanuts are out for me. I did add a bit of peanut butter to the meal and it was fantastic!! MH should state clearly on the package that Pad Thai does not contain peanuts or peanut products. A member of a hiking group mentioned that she couldn't eat the MH Pad Thai due to peanut allergies. I told her that it does not contain peanuts.... :)

GF Chicken Pad Thai was great!

This meal was fantastic! Great flavor with some spice. The rehydrated noodles stayed together instead of becoming mush. Enough chunks of chicken and veg to provide good texture. I would suggest adding 1-2 minutes to the first mix and sit in boiling water (step 4) as well as 1-2 minutes to the mix and stand (step 5). This will give the chicken enough time to fully rehydrate. Overall grade: A+
