Soy Sauce a Must!
Overtime I've learned to always pack Mountain House meals with some sort of seasoning. Soy sauce is a must with this one. Three stars without - 5 stars with.
Surprisingly Good
Bought each one of many meals for an extended outdoor adventure and was surprised by how good these are and did not cause any stomach issues. I bought mostly the chicken meals and all were good.
Could use some soy sauce
Not a bad meal but as one reviewer previously stated, a bit bland. I have purchased a couple of these so I plan to tape some packets of soy sauce to the package which should help.
Easy to cook, but bland
Really like mountain house meals, but this one was very bland. If you pack some sauce, would definitely improve the taste.
Very good!
This a good meal and i would typically add a half a cup more of water. Then i would add a curry spice to it. However it taste great as is.
Really dang darn good!
This meal is one of the best camp meals which I have ever tasted. The chicken has substance and does not have a hint of that dry cardboardy taste. I eat the whole bag at the end of the long trail-day. It is more than filling. Some powdered soy sauce is a great addition. I have a keychain Sriracha bottle for those times when I need an extra dab of spice. Tip: Use super hot boiling water, I mean really get it boiling. Then, stick to the MH directions. It comes out perfect.
A little disappointing, but still very edible
Some Mountain House meals are so good that you would eat them at home and be perfectly happy because they're delicious. Others, like this one, taste better the more hungry and cold you are. If you were cold and hungry and some-one offered you this meal, I guarantee you would be overjoyed and deeply grateful. And it would taste delicious. If you're sitting in your nice warm kitchen though, it might just taste acceptable.
I didn't love it...
I tried this meal at home before going backpacking. It was very bland, very blah. I added salt and soy sauce, and that improved it a bit. It wasn't terrible, but I won't intentionally buy it again. I will say that everything seems to taste a little better after a long day on the trail, so maybe I'd have like it more somewhere other than my kitchen.
Good Dehydrated Meal
For a dehydrated meal, it’s VERY tasty! Better than expected and this is now one of our “go to” meal options on motocamping trips. We are very simple and prefer minimal prep time. We boil the water in our JetBoil and eat this in minutes.
Good taste, light weight
I found the meal to be light in weight. It was easy to carry. Also, it had a good taste. The amount of salt was more than I wanted. It would be improved by decreasing the amount of salt. I would purchase the item again.
