Rated 1 out of 5 by from Runs small I love the colors and the style however, they run small. I have always been true to size wearing a 7 with about a 1/2” wiggle room in the toe box. I ordered a 7 like I normally would and my toes hit the very edge of the toe box. The shoes are very snug and uncomfortable. The first time I wore them I got a very large blister on my right foot. If I wasn’t trying to pretend they would fit, I would of returned them right away for my money back. I’ve worn Vasque hiking boots in the past which I truly loved and was hoping to get the same vibe from these trail runners but it just didn’t happen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite hiking shoes ever I bought these because I was sick of the weight of my boots, and was looking for something that would work with my high arches and narrow heels. These trail runners are perfect. Great support, great fit, and plenty of room for my toes. I just did 25 miles in one day after barely breaking them in, and aside from one small blister, I didn't have a single issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stable shoe that soothes my shins! I have had years of troubles with shin splints - even going to physical therapy for over a year. After giving up on running an REI associate recommended these vasque shoes. I walked / ran 3+ miles without shin pain and thought for sure the next day would be a different story. Next day- shins were good and I was amazed! Thank you REI and Vasque!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy and Sturdy These shoes are very comfy and have ample cushion support. They do run a bit small - I normally wear between 7 - 7.5 and had to get a size 8. I am thinking of buying another pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from May require insoles I loved the feel of these shoes when I tried them on in the store and wore them at home the first couple of times. But I went out for a few runs with them and noticed that my knees were aching, a problem I have never had before. I stopped wearing the shoes and my knees felt much better. I am now wearing insoles to give more height to my heel area, and my knees feel normal again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great shoe! I bought these last week in-store and fell in love with them. They do run a tad bit small. Go up a half size and they’ll fit perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from On my third pair! Excellent inner and outer stucture and comfort plus they look great. They do run small. I usually take a 6&1/2 and they are a 7&1/2.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Returning to store Bought this shoe online during the sale. I've heard that Vasque has a wider forefoot but I have not come to agree with this. I don't have dainty feet, I'm a hiker on her feet often, but I still don't have wide width type feet either. The cushioning in this shoe is really nice though and the arch support is better than I've felt in a while, I wish that this shoe would fit my foot type but I'm not going to pretend it does. Been there, done that. The Tongue seems like it would keep debris out also but is not too thick or too thin.

Questions & Answers

I am looking at this running shoe and Vasque Trailbender Trail-Running Shoes - Women's. Are these true to size? I have other Vasque shoes (low hiker, Talus and backpacking boot). All are size 10. I use orthotics and remove the insert. Will these work

What is the cushioning for this shoe? It isn't listed in the specs.

Asked by: Emma
These shoes have EVA midsoles that provide excellent cushioning and rebound. The Traction Plus soles also assist in absorbing impact on aggressive terrain.

Would these be suitable for day hiking in average (not too rugged, established trails) conditions? Also does anyone else find these laces way too long, like they were meant for boots? Can I trim and heat-seal the ends?

Asked by: HoundyCat
These trail-running shoes can be used for light hiking. The laces can be trimmed and fused if needed.
