I've worn Altras for 10+years and recently started using them for more varied terrain in hiking, rather than just trail running. My current pair of waterproof Lone Peaks is about 8 months old and is already lost its waterproofing. I had good luck with them the first few months but now if any moisture gets on the fabric on the top, it starts leaking through. I would call these water resistant and, as lots of other folks have complained about at other outfitters, not waterproof.
These are my 4th pair of lone peaks. This newest pair feels so good on my feet that I realize my others are pretty worn out. I worry that the newest year model will not feel as good but these are great.
Have tried many shoes with zero/low drop to address pain in my big toe joint. These have been the best - better than Xero or Topo -and fits my orthodic. I am thrilled!!
Wore these while traveling to Scotland and kept me very dry with the rain. Very comfortable and love the color.
