Comfortable and grippy. I would suggest sizing down. I am typically a 7.5 in other shoes so I had to send it back for a 7. I am a 7 in ON cloud runners,
I purchased Antora 2 several years ago and it was THE BEST SHOE EVER. So I bought a few pairs at that time. Unfortunately the time came when I needed to replace my last pair. I immediately went back to the the Antora - now version 4. I purchased the same size as I had purchased in the version 2. Sadly the shoe is drastically different in size and shape now; it’s longer and more narrow. It’s so hard to find a comfortable hiking shoe for wide feet and I thought I had found the perfect one, but now with the changes, it’s just like a million other shoes on the market. Not for me. I’ll be returning these.
I bought this pair of sneakers and loved them so much I ordered another pair in a different color a couple of days later!....The only problem is the first pair I ordered had a strong mildew smell. I removed the inserts and discovered that was the problem. I've tried washing them by hand and putting them out in the sun. They still stink! Even the box they were in smells of mildew. The second pair I ordered are fine. Not sure if my first pair came from a warehouse that had water issues. Hopefully the company reads these reviews and contact me so I can get the inserts replaced.
Seems to be a bit of a downgrade from the Antora 3. I've been an avid Merrell Antora fan for a few years. The Antora 2 was awesome. Antora 3 was made a little bigger, but still great. However, this Antora 4 doesn't seem to be as supportive or as sturdy. Also, the toe protect on the big toe area doesn't come up as far and protect as much as the previous versions, and the toe box seems to be a bit more narrow (I need a roomier toe box). Love the color I bought, and they're not disappointing enough to return, but I would like to have those previous Antora features back.
I recently bought these shoes for a trip to Europe. While super comfy, they are TREACHEROUS on wet, cobblestones and sidewalks!
I really loved the Antora 3, but as several other reviewers have said, these are an unfortunate disappointment. The 4s are narrower, especially in the toe box area, to the point the sides rub my feet. The toe guard is smaller and doesn't come up over the front of the shoe as far, which is also unfortunate if you plan to wear these off-road. The color was amazing, and the cushioning felt okay for the brief time I wore them, but the narrower fit is a deal breaker for my average-size feet that like to be able to spread out more in a shoe. I'll be hunting down some Antora 3s and stocking up on them, in the hopes the next iteration is better than these 4s.
These are a great pair of shoes for moderate trail running and hiking! They are lightweight and comfortable and dry out quickly if they get wet. I loved how the shoes felt on my feet and thought their construction encouraged a proper running stride for me. The toe box is very roomy which I enjoyed on my bunions.
Wonderful summer sneakers. Top is stretchy and breathable. They hold the feet but also give room for toes. I think they are perfect for hiking or walking. Not sure about trail running. Does not secure foot as other Merrel shoes, but I was looking for walking shoes.
Super confortable semelle qui absorbe les chocs parfait pour porter toute la journée
Even though the Antora isn’t part of Merrell’s MTL lineup, the quality holds up impressively well. The cushioning feels soft and supportive right out of the box—actually more comfortable initially than the Agility Peaks. I’ve worn them for both road and trail walks, and they’ve handled a mix of terrain with ease. Great grip, reliable support, and enough comfort to log long miles without issue. Whether you're out for a casual hike or spending hours on your feet, the Antora delivers a solid, dependable ride.
