I went on a whim on this and took a chance , what I’m finding out is that I made a excellent choice, this bike is fast , very playful being a 29er and all , had my doubts on whether or not this rig would be nimble and it proved me wrong , tackles the rough rock gardens like a champ . Another thing that surprised me is that when climbing there is no noticeable pedal bob , very efficient on the climbs and on decent the SLAMR screams fast and like I said it’s very nimble . Awesome build and excellent value I’ve been mountain biking since 2006 and I highly recommend this trail bike .

Bought this to replace my hardtail. Specs say tires are tubeless ready, they're not. Same issue on the rims. Discovered a part was missing, very little support from Ghost. Had to fabricate it myself.

Great bike!

I've now ridden 26", 27.5" and 29" wheels and I have to say this is my favorite bike of them all. And if you're trying to decide between a Kato FS and a Slamr, this is hands down a better bike in every way. My first two rides (Sandy Ridge and Post Canyon) went very well and I have no complaints about the bike's ability to handle any of that downhill terrain. My true test was the Timberline to Town trail that I actually rode backwards (Rhododendron to Timberline) and this thing was fantastic! I feel that this bike did just as well going downhill as my previous two FS bike's, but where it really shines going up. I did buy some rim tape and convert these Alex wheels to tubeless and am running 24psi rear and 22psi front. I attempted to get all the way down to 18psi with the Mountain King Protection tires, but they seem to burp tire sealant around that pressure. So my only advice with getting this bike is that you definitely need to convert to tubeless and you absolutely need to get a new set of handlebar grips because the stock set are pretty much the dumbest grips ever made. Con: I have had only one issue with the bike and that was with the assembly. Whomever assembled the bike overtightened the shift bracket bolt and stripped out all of the threads. I had to tap out the assembly and install a new bolt. So clearly they didn't use a torque wrench and don't have a feel for what proper torque is for such a small bolt. That was annoying, but not that big of a deal. It would have been a show stopper for a lot of folks though. So, if I was you, I would pull those bolts out as soon as I get the bike and double check the thread condition before committing to any longer rides.

Great bike for the money

Have ridden the big brands for years but had gotten out of it for a few years. Needed a budget friendly bike to get back in the game. Aside from a few flaws the bike has delivered and then some. Recently took it to a lift assisted bike park. One of the few trail bikes I saw that day but you know what it handled it as well as can be expected. Fork did tend to pack up a bit in heavy breaking bumps but never bottomed out the front or rear. Very stable in the air and handled the rock gardens and roots like a champ. Wheels are still straight and true even after a day of pounding. It is a trail bike and there were limits with it, but none were below my own riding limits. Issues: Seat post. Cheap dropper post that has a lot of movement at the seat and had developed a creak. Also had to replace the cable fairly early on as it was fraying at the lever. Bottom bracket also just developed an annoying creak as well. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. Sure it may not have the cool factor as some other bikes out there but with the cost savings...I can live with that.

Great Bike

This is my first good MTB. I’ve owned a few cheap hardtails but nothing more than $500. This bike is awesome in comparison to my past bike. I’m much more confident on the trails, much faster too. I’ve owned the bike a little over a month now and rode about 10 trails. No issues as of now.

Great Bike awesome value!

I Read some of the reviews on this product and other Ghost bikes as well was not sure if they were going to be worth while give some of the negative marks given. I decided to take the plunge since it was incredible deal with great components how bad could it be? NOT BAD AT ALL! This is a dream to ride! So happy with the purchase I have ridden almost every other day for the last 4 weeks have had no issues what so ever. The sram eagle has smooth and crisp shifts, the 29" Tires and rims offer great rolling resistance and smooth ride, the Rock Shock suspension is very responsive (After I set it up correctly) and the brakes are amazing! Very good package overall my only complaint is that it is a bit of an off brand so trying to find information or reviews was hard but I feel I made a good decision. Pros: Great Components - SRAM Eagle 1x12, 29" Wheels, Hyro Brakes, RockShock Air front & Back, Aluminum Frame, Clean Lines Cons: Seat is little stiff I think it loosen over time, The dropper post could be better a bit hard to actuate.

Very good MTB

I am using this bike for around 1 months, and ride about 100 miles with thanks, so now I am very confident now to give a feedback. Pros: Beautiful bicycle (Friends love it), very agile and stable on curves and all the types of ground. Excellent group set, fast and relaible. Cons: Some small assembly issue with front tier and rear delaliuer (Very easy to fix), there are some noise issues with the internal cables (Need to add cloth type to improve)

Very Good Value

I purchased my 2019 SL AMR about a year ago as my first FS bike after riding hardtails for a few years. Overall, it's been a solid bike. I was a little apprehensive at first because reviews of Ghost bikes are few and far between but I took a flier. The components are decent for this price point. I've upgraded the tires to tubeless Maxxis Minions, changed the grips, and added a front fender. I've had various bits loosen up on me so it needs going over with a wrench once in a while. It climbs and descends well enough, handles decent on the flow trails, and the suspension can handle most of what upstate SC throws at it. Overall I'd recommend this as a nice entry level offering for someone who's looking to move up from a hardtail or from an inexpensive department store bike
