Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take your pack Outback I have been looking for a backpack for quite a while and I do have a backpack but it weighs seven and a half pounds and I was looking for something lighter. The county coyote 80 backpack look like it would fit my needs. I have had it out on three hiking trips just getting used to the pack and how to load it. So far it has my expectations with everything fitting inside the pack including my tent. The front patches on the Belt are big enough to actually carry things. The side pockets for water bottles are easy to get to without taking the back off. All the extra pockets are very handy for carrying items you would like to have accessed easily. The pack fits well and carries the weight on the hips. I gave this pack a rating of five stars, it is the best pack that I have used for my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Backpack! I purchased a smaller and very lightweight pack a year ago, but didn't like it much due to lack of external pockets. (I used to use external packs exclusively because of the abundance of external pockets.) The Coyote Pack has been great! I used for a 3 day trip recently and I was very pleased with the performance. The pack carried well and I can't say enough how pleased I was with the sales associate who helped size the pack; fitted it and gave pointers about fine tuning the suspension system after I was on the trail and carrying the weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great self supported Pack I got it for a 10 day self supported hike. Did the CDT South terminus to Silver City,NM. I was able to have all my gear including tent and sleeping bag. With the different pockets and access, you can get to your gear without having to take everything out.

I am in the early planning for a walk-thru of the AT and in need of advice on the best equipment to choose. I am a novice and can surely need expert advice. I will be 61 when I make this attempt.

Been on many 3-4 day treks with this pack and it has never failed me. It does not come with a rain cover, you should probably get one for the AT. Got tons of storage and many pockets to separate items like stove, water filter, toiletries, etc. It also has storage in the waist-belt for small camera, snacks, etc. I love it....
