Works great!

I've so far taken this mat out onto grass and to the beach. On the grass it's just another mat and works well. The real test was the beach and I'm happy to say that it sifted out the sand pretty well. This is with dogs running back and forth and on and off the mat all day. If the sand is wet, it will take a little longer to find it's way through. The mat doesn't hold water either, which is a plus.

I like the size of this mat, however it's uncomfortable to sit on - it feels like a giant Brillo pad.

Fantastic, worked as advertised!

Bought this after doing a ton of research and trying to decide what pros/cons we wanted in a beach mat. Visited the beach in Delaware, which has finer grain sand. It slipped right back through the mat and disappeared with a quick couple wipes of my hand. I can see how larger grains would remain on top as there were still a few that remained, but I could swipe those hard and they'd either roll to another area of the mat I didn't care to keep sand-free or I could wipe them off the edge. Wet sand didn't go through as well, but would still sort of disappear if I wiped it a lot. I found that if I just waited a little bit to let it dry I could easily brush it back into the mat. Overall completely satisfied and I'd highly recommend this mat for beachgoers. One note: it says there are eyelets on each corner, but there are also several along each side as well.

Great investment for car camping with puppers

Used this while car camping at a desert campground and was quite impressed. The afternoon monsoons turned into a full-on thunderstorm, so dirty shoes and paws were walking all over this mat all night. The next morning, the mat was dry and when we picked it up, no dirt or sand remained. Great investment for camping.

It Works

Not a blanket to curl up on—it is made of two layers of coarse plastic threads and so is not soft or comfy. But it actually does a good job of allowing dry sand to sift through to the ground while not allowing that same sand to come up to the surface the mat. It really does work on sand, not so well in actual dirt. It is called a SAND-free mat and it does it’s job very well.

I am so happy with this purchase. I hesitated regarding the cost, but this is a fantastic product. The sand falls right through! And there are grommets that you could use to stake it down if you need to. Stakes not included.

Like magic...

I wanted a rug to place outside our camper that kept the dirt out of the camper. I was skeptical about this because I was worried it would be too coarse on bare feet. I was wrong. This rug is a game changer! The dirt and dust just flow right through it - like magic! I'm so impressed with this rug, it's exactly the thing we didn't know we needed.

Over the moon with how well this worked!!

I love the beach but hate sand and this mat is AWESOME. I have held off on buying one for a few years nevertheless of how expensive it is and how rarely I go to the beach, but this had changed everything!! I took this along with a brush to sweep away the larger stones that don't sift through and the whole beach day was so much more comfortable. I definitely got some side eye for being the crazy person sweeping sand away in the middle of the beach, but whatever, it was a great day at the beach. All our stuff was so much cleaner afterwards too - much less sand stuck to everything and tracked into the car and house.

Not for a Rainy Forest

I purchased this (original version) for a mat in front of my teardrop trailer. It does not pool in the rain, is good for the first of feet-wiping, and it easy to sweep in the rain. However, we had to pack it up wet and have spent 2 hours hosing it off. A LOT of pine needles are now in between the layers and I guess will be there forever. I may not use it again, and go back to a less expensive camp rug.

Superb Quality RV mat

We love these mats. They dry quickly and keep the RV much cleaner. A little heavier than others but the quality far exceeds the weight difference
