so handy!

So tiny and works. We camp with a full air mattress and it inflated it no problem. Lots of nozzles for flexibility. The deflation feature also made folding our floaty water toys so easy! Only downside was there is not an instruction to actually turn on the pump (double tap the button). But they had a YouTube video.

Don't hit the trail without it!

I've had this pump for a few years now and I love it! Inflates and deflates my REI pad quickly. It also serves as a hanging lantern in my tent or as a flashlight if I need to use the loo in the middle of the night. Fabulous product! Super lightweight, but powerful.

Not Convenient Enough

While bringing an electric pump for backpacking trips is luxurious, I need a few small additions to this product to justifiy bringing it over a classic pump sack. First, the battery dies surprisingly quick. After only two inflations of a Thermarest Neoloft, this puppy died in the field on my first trip test (thus I recommend bringing a battery back everytime you bring this pump: extra weight). Second, the nozzles do not easily fit in the three most popular models of sleeping pads: NEMO, Thermarest, and Big Agnes. This is a travesty, and voids the convenience that this product advertises. You can rig a combo of two of the nozzles to make it work in the field with these pads, but it doesn't fit quiet right and significantly slows the inflation time. And messing with multiple little black plastic nozzles in the field is a pain, and will evnetually result in a lost piece. Regardless if you choose one or two nozzles to fit your pad, the nozzles don't "click" into the valves. Thus you must stay put, holding the tiny pump to the valve at the right angle to make sure it inflates properly. And frankly, it inflates slowly - I could inflate using a pump sack much faster. Other small pumps (ahem, Exped) makes nozzles that SNAP into the pads valve, which allows you to leave and do other tasks as your pad inflates. If the tiny pump had this, my complaint about inflation speed would be voided. Nevertheless, I think there's a small use case for this. If you were backpacking with 1-2 friends, and don't mind bringing the extra nozzle pieces, or waiting by your pad for a few minutes, AND wanted to leave all the pump sacks at home; sure! Bring this along. But convenience is king when backpacking and choosing "luxury" items to bring, and this pump doesn't justify its weight or cost in the field.
