Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made for a lean build My husband is 6'2" and 168 lbs. He has a long torso and lean physique. He normally fits a 32" waist and 32" inseam pant. This pant fits snug across the waist and pelvis. Because there is some stretch to the fabric he is comfortable with a light t-shirt tucked. The pleats knees allow him to crouch easily even with the slim fit styling. The fabric is medium weight with a lot of body (a little stiffness) to it which makes it good for wind. Another reviewer said it was good for motorcycling riding and I would believe it. My husband's only complaint is that the fabric feels "scratchy" due to the stiffness I mentioned. He will use them as travel pants and likely on the golf course on cool windy days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised I haven't heard of this brand before Disclaimer: I have not had a proper field test, these are my initial impressions: You should know I wear slim/tapered Levi's nearly everyday of the week. I've had legit hiking pants in the past and while completely practical they were, the materials and whooshing noises made feel wildly unnatural in them. I have spent a good chunk of my time looking for a decent hiking pant that a) doesn't have a foreign feel b) is durable c) lacks cotton and is d) slim throughout the calf. I have been wanting a pair of Fjallraven (Abisko, Keb, Vidda) pants for over a year now but couldn't justify the $180 pricetag. That and the cotton-poly blend concerned me. I've had Carrharts as my go to outdoor pant and they work great, but the cotton-poly did not dry quickly after an encounter with rain or a quick knee to the ground. These pants feel very natural for someone who wears jeans often. The picture doesn't do them justice but they actually look like denim (the material is 66% nylon, 33% polyester, and 3% spandex). They are definitely slim (not skinny) and aren't billowy at the calf like most trekking pants which will collect dew and other moisture as you walk through the morning brush. There is a nice zip pocket above the knee that holds an iphone 6 plus so the phone is protected and won't mess up your stride. I am lanky man and am almost all legs. These run a bit long which I appreciate. For the weight conscious - my 32 W 34 L pants come in at 14.35 ounces. My favorite feature of this pant is the drawstring at the ankle (see attached picture). This allows one to tighten up the ankle even more or cinch them up above the calf for a river crossing. I would love to give more thoughts on this item once I give them a good field test.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST PANTS EVER Best pants I have ever bought. I bought these right before a road trip across Utah visiting Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Grand Canyon NP, and Arches NP. I spent the whole week in them while hiking, camping, and in traveling from motel to motel. They performed well while hiking the canyons and looked nice while grabbing a bite to eat at a restaurant. These pants were the most comfortable pants for all occasions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice product I bought this pants a month and a half ago and in have been wearing it since very weekend. Good for hiking, casual, even motorcycling. Amazing product, and I will be getting the other color soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect balance of utility and style I usually hate how outdoor hiking/recreation pants are often too baggy and loose fitting (aka not stylish). These pants are perfectly balanced to meet the needs of utility (toughness) with style (fitted and slim). Very well constructed pants. Perfect for weekend lounging, traveling, and any outdoor activity you can dream of. I've been wearing my *first pair* for a week and just ordered a second pair because I love them so much!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite They fit nicely. I usually need 34 waist + a belt; but the tough but stretchy nature allows me a 32 size. I use them for work in the hvac field. They breathe very well but also insulate wind chills. And look awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants Stylish, fit great. I like the fabric, very light can be worn in warm weather. Semi-dressy looking if you don't mind the diagonal zipper running across the right thigh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Royal Robbin Pants Honestly the best pair of pants I've ever owned. I wear them to work almost everyday and I wear them pretty much any other time outside of that. I need more pairs.

I bought a pair for my husband for a trip through Ireland in May. They LOOK great on him, but he says they feel "scratchy". Do they soften up after some wear and washing? Do you hang p to dry or use a clothes dryer?

Asked by: hikingdiva
It is possible after a few washes these pants will become softer. We recommend washing on a gentle cycle and line drying.
