Quality jacket but on the smaller side
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second Brooks running item I’ve owned and the quality is excellent, as I would have expected from this brand. The material is clearly well designed, love the little touches like a slightly longer back of jacket length, zippered pockets, and small inner pocket inside the right pocket. The only downside is the fit is slightly on the small side. I’m usually an x-small, occasionally a small, and I definitely need a small in this jacket. I can technically get it zipped closed but it’s very tight across the chest and I can’t zip it comfortably up the neck for sure. Everything else is great—just maybe need to size up to have a comfortable fit!
Comfy and lightweight
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shield Hybrid Jacket 3.0 was lightweight and comfortable. I typically wear size small/medium for tops and got the size small in this jacket. It fit snug so it may not allow for wearing many layers underneath. I wore it on a chilly day with a light sweatshirt underneath and it kept me warm on a chilly windy autumn day spent by the lake. The fabric feels like it would dry quickly if it got wet. What I liked the most about this jacket is the pockets. They have a zipper to keep whatever you put in your pockets secured from falling out. The one thing that I would change is getting a medium instead of the small so if I wear layers underneath the jacket then it won’t be too snug.
Your Ultimate Cold-Weather Running Sidekick: Brooks Shield Hybrid Jacket 3.0
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Shield Hybrid Jacket 3.0 is like your trusty sidekick for cold-weather runs! It fits true to size and feels super cozy, perfect for staying comfy while you’re on the move. Windy days? No problem—this jacket is a pro at keeping the chill out without making you overheat, even when you’re pushing your limits. Plus, it’s got all the cool features you didn’t know you needed, like zipper hand pockets, deep inner pockets, and thumbholes (hello, warm hands!). The material is soft yet tough, so you know it’s in it for the long haul. Sure, it’s a bit of a splurge, but for how it performs, it’s totally worth it for any cold-weather adventurer!
Warm without the bulk
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So excited for the dropping temps so that I can get more use out of this jacket! I love how slim it is while still being so warm and the fabric is really soft and durable. The fit is great, although I wish I would have sized up as I am large chested and the zipper is tight around my chest, but it hits the perfect spot on my hips without being too long or short. I love that I can wear it while I run and not feel like I’m having a hard time moving my arms. Very sleek and functional. I’m currently training for a relay in Lake Tahoe and it will be perfect for the cold temps.
Runs small, but very comfortable!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There’s so much that I love about this jacket! The material is so breathable and easy to move in without feeling heavy or uncomfortable. I love the thumb holes so the sleeves don’t ride up, and the snaps in the middle so that I can keep the jacket partially open while I run. The only downside of this jacket is that it runs small. I have the XL but usually wear a large and it still feels short and tight with the sleeves just a tad too short. If the sizing was more accurate I would definitely get more colors. My petite friend tried it on and while the style of the back makes it look a little open and flowy, it fit her just fine!
Comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this jacket. The material is high quality and comfortable for a jog or wearing inside when the building is cold. The jacket is well designed with zippered pockets and being a little longer in the back. The Ocean Drive/ Moroccan blue color is a nice change from my usual black. The jacket is small. I normally get a large and this is a tighter fit than I would normally wear. Definitely made for top heavy girls. I do wish Brooks had a line for bigger chest, smaller waist so women like me could have that tailored fit look.
Saved me during very cold winter runs
I bought this jacket hoping that it would live up to the claim of all the warmth without the bulk and I can tell you it is true! Temperatures in the teens and single digits are common here and this jacket keeps me comfortable with only a base long sleeve running shirt beneath it. It is soft, especially the cushioning where the zipper ends at my neck--no irritation from the zipper--and moves with me. The zippered side pockets are perfect for my key and ID to stay secure. I bought the XL because that was the size on clearance and despite being a bit large, I have no bad things to say about it (I would have ordered the large for layering anyway). This jacket has increased my confidence in winter running.
Running with Style
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shield Hybrid Jacket 3.0 is my new favorite running jacket. Not only is it light weight and easy to run with but it keeps me warm from both the wind and cold early mornings. Despite it being a jacket I don’t feel like it overly warms my body or causes me to sweat more. The finger loops at the end of the jacket makes the comfort of wearing the jacket a lot better as well. You don’t feel the ends of the jackets rubbing on you due to the finger loops. Overall it’s an amazing running jacket and I can’t wait to buy more in various color ways. Perfect just in time for winter coming up!
Looks great, feels great, runs small
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for a good midweight jacket and I think I have found the one! I love almost everything about this jacket. It is so soft and feels great the second you put it on. It is lightweight but still incredibly warm, and the way the sleeves hug your wrist helps ensure you don’t get a draft up your sleeve like you do with looser jackets. My favorite feature is that the “puffer” part only covers about half of the jacket; it keeps you warm but gives a very flattering fit (so you don’t get the puffy snowman look). The part that isn’t “puffer” is a really soft, stretchy fabric. My only complaint is that it does seem to run a little small. I am 5’7” and 135 pounds, usually a true medium. And while I don’t mind the jacket fitting snuggly, the neck is just too tight for my comfort. The sleeves also pull a bit when my thumbs are through the thumb holes. I would advise sizing up for a little more comfort. Overall, though, I love that the design of this jacket lets me wear it to exercise AND do everyday life tasks like playing with my kids at the park. It’s versatile, it’s comfortable, it’s warm. What’s not to love?
New favorite jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who just started running, I have to say it’s been a fantastic addition to my gear. First off, comfort is key for me, if it’s not comfortable I won’t wear it. This jacket definitely delivers. The material feels great against the skin, not too stiff or heavy. That is something I was worried about with running in cooler weather which is right around the corner. It’s just the right weight, not too bulky, but still offers an extra layer of warmth. What really stands out to me is how breathable the jacket is. Even on longer runs, I didn’t feel like I was overheating. That’s a huge plus, especially for someone who’s just getting into running and still figuring out the right layers to wear for different conditions. The fit is snug but not too tight, so it feels supportive without being constricting. Another thing I love about this jacket is the flexibility. It moves with you, so I never feel restricted, whether I’m going for a jog or picking up the pace. The fit is snug but not too tight, so it feels supportive without being constricting. I also love the wind resistant and water repellent features. I’ve been caught in a couple of light drizzles, and the jacket held up well, keeping me dry without weighing me down. I like the combination of fabrics, it looks great and adds to the comfort. Overall this is a great running jacket and I would recommend it.
