Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

I’ve been looking for a lightweight synthetic filled jacket to replace my Patagonia that was eaten by my niece’s (naughty) dog. The new version did not fit the same as the one I had. This one from REI is a great substitute. Advantages are the hood is more roomy, it has interior stash pockets AND a CHEST POCKET! The fill is recycled (I think?). I wore it xc skiing in the woods and it’ll be great for hiking when I want extra insulation by itself or under my shell (didn’t want down because if it gets wet, you’re screwed). Three things I wish were different are: lighter weight/more packable, the side pockets have flaps instead of flush zippers (I like the flush look better/more streamlined), and a way to cinch the hood.
Once I tried on the REI dove grey micro trek jacket in the store, I realized that it would fit my needs for cool days…and the color was quite beautiful (even though I usually don’t purchase grey outdoor coats). It seemed too delicate to take on the trail without a shell though, and I worried about rain affecting the light colors under a bright shell. Therefore, I decided to use it as a casual coat when the weather and outfit were appropriate. The dove grey matched my skin tone better than black. I liked the option of having the adjustable hood. I sized up because I like to leave room for layering and comfort. I liked the longer length of this one too. So soft and comfortable, love the color.
I originally got this coat for Christmas in 2020. It fit perfectly and was great quality. My favorite coat. Unfortunately December 2024, it got stolen. I immediately ordered the same one. The new one showed up and I'm so disappointed. I got the same size, but the fit is different. It's a little longer and has longer sleeves. I decided to keep it thinking it was good enough. But I've had it for a month and I can tell the quality is not the same. I wear it on my walk to work and my backpack rubbing against it is pilling the stitching. There's now little grey fuzzies where the thread is getting rubbed against. It's only been a month of me using it three times a week. Unfortunately, I don't see this holding up very long, especially with hiking/backpacking.
Love, love, love this jacket. The green color is a gorgeous teal, well constructed with side and chest zip pockets as well as two interior pockets. I do prefer down for warmth, but a warm when wet synthetic puffy has a definite place in my wardrobe. Fit is better than the big name synthetic puffy & price is significantly less. Five Stars REI!
I love the fit and the look although the arms are a little long on me. But I noticed tiny little threads coming from the exterior seams. I think for $179.00 that shouldn’t be happening. So, sadly, I’m going to return it and resume my search.
Very comfortable. Jacket feels spacey yet protective from the wind chill. Definitely glad I upgraded. I especially like how you can pull the scrunchie at the bottom so you won’t have any cold coming up from the bottom of the jacket.
I wore this jacket for 1.5 weeks to work and for daily walks. I had to return because the insulation was coming out through the seams and stitching. I would not recommend this jacket. Such inferior quality.
