My husband, daughter, and I all own this jacket and we all agree it is the absolute best lightweight jacket any of us have ever owned! This is the jacket I reach for now for almost any activity. We took our jackets on a recent safari in Kenya and it was perfect. We could layer under it for the chillier mornings, it was water resistant when some light showers hit, and it was lightweight and compacted well for traveling. I cannot recommend this jacket highly enough. We were very impressed with how well it regulated our temperature. The fit and cut is perfect, not bulky, just a really comfortable jacket!
I got this from an employer for an event uniform and first shrugged it off as another lightweight jacket, but it's been a go-to for running, biking and around town cool mornings/evenings in the high desert. I find most packable shells to be unflattering or uncomfortable outside of trail use, but the weight of the lining on this one makes it a tech jacket that can also look great and feel weighted enough; have gotten lots of compliments. I hover between XS and S; chose small here and pleasant sizing in the sleeves and torso.
The material and design of this jacket are awesome. Soft and cozy inside with wind breaking outside and still lightweight! The sizing is a bit off compared to all my other STIO jackets and tops. I am mostly a medium with a couple small items. I returned the medium in this jacket for a large because the sleeves were just a bit too short for comfort. The sleeves in the large are perfect - the body is roomier than I usually get but I can layer under it nicely. And it’s not so roomy it feels too big. Overall pretty great.
I have to echo all the other reviews: this is an incredible jacket for cold weather aerobic activity. I'm not sure how it can be so thin and keep me so warm? It allows moisture to exit so you aren't soaked (and it isn't soaked, either) with sweat after exertion. I have been wearing it to xc ski all winter and also for cooler weather runs in fall and spring. It also has a soft feel so it's not loud to wear. I had been trying to find a jacket like this and couldn't be happier. When you nail it, you nail it, Stio.
I like the fit. Not too tight. Gives the warmth you need
This jacket is magical. Like seriously magical. I run in this jacket in temperatures from 40 degrees and breezy down to subzero. The jacket keeps me warm without overheating which I typically do while running in a jacket. It makes deciding what to run in so easy. It also cuts the wind so that windy winter runs are much more enjoyable. Amazing.
I absolutely love this jacket. I purchased the Quiet Gray, which is a soothing and versatile pale gray tone with contrasting zipper pulls in blue. The interior lining is super soft and cozy. I wear this in cool weather (45-60 degrees), perfect for hiking and outdoor sports. The fit is flattering and slightly fitted without feeling tight. I purchased a Medium and the fit is perfect for me (5'6 and 145 pounds, average build).
I bought this jacket to use not only as a spring/fall jacket; however its primary purpose is to use as a layer during our cold Vermont winters doing outside activities. So far it seems perfect for the job. I purchased a medium and was worried it might be too small to layer over a fleece or have sleeves that were too short (I have ridiculously long arms). To my great surprise, it is the perfect size!
This jacket keeps me the perfect temperature! And if that was not enough it also feels like a hug. The inside is so comfy. I just wish it had the color RED or other colors. I would buy another one for sure.
I've tried a lot of active insulated layers, and always gotten too hot. This is the best one I've had, by far! Great for XC skiing or running in cold temps and is a go-to layer for ski touring. I'll wear it on the uptrack when it's cold, or as a midlayer to put on for the down if it's warmer. Breathable, lightly wind and water resistant--it's the best!
