I got this to use solely to use as a midlayer under my shell jacket while skiing. I thought it was not an attractive jacket online and in person it’s even less attractive, but idc as it is used under my shell. It’s a lightweight insulation (feels just slightly less than my nanopuff). And the breathable fleece portions are great for areas that tend to get really hot, like my back, when i’m skiing. I also got this on sale so it was a great deal for me.
I'm a typical small in jackets, and this jacket runs small in the shoulder and arm, making it hard to layer. Other than that, the construction is of good quality. You might need to size up one size if want to layer.
