Maybe to Narrow for Medium Size Fit?
I have been wanting to obtain a pair of Vasque connect shoes in Gore-Tex version since purchasing a pair of connect nonGore-Tex. I compared both pair for width and it appears the Gore-Tex version is a little narrow for a medium compared the non Gore-Tex. Since purchase I have had this pain develop on the outside ball of my feet area walking about 20 miles total. So far it is not has bad in the beginning. Not sure if it is the width of the shoe or design where the Gore-Tex taped seem is on that area. Over all I have been wearing Vasque shoes since 1978. This is the first real fit problem I had for a 10 medium. To experiment I purchased a 10 wide of Vasque site to see if that helps. Just received in the mail 11/27/2024. If they fit better with no pain will return these to REI for credit.
LIghtweight, cute but do not last
I bought this as a 2nd pair of hiking shoes (light weight and low height), primarily because they are such fun colors and have goretex waterproof. These do not last. I have had them for less than an year and about 140 miles and they are already falling apart. My Solomons have lasted over 3 years, more than 400 miles and still better shape than these. Only buy if you want fun looking shoes for light walking occasionaly.
