On  Cloudhorizon 2 Waterproof Hiking Shoes - Men's

Ordered the new Atoll/Green color and REI sent the Soba/Eclipse color (also new apparently, not on their website), My guess is the Atoll is a typo and the Soba is the one they’re really selling. Anyway bummed as I used my 20% off and I cant get the shoes I ordered.

I ordered these shoes by mistake. I thought I had ordered the non-waterproof version. When the shoes were finally delivered (more below) and I realized I ordered the wrong ones, I returned them to my local REI store. No problem with the return, but I have to tell you that the OnTrac delivery service used by REI is beyond awful. They confirmed delivery by sending me a photo of a stranger’s house which they identified as my own. Several attempts to rectify the situation were met with the same frustrating response that delivery had been made. Yes, indeed, delivery had been made - but not to my house! I was lucky to receive the shoes the next day from an honest neighbor. If I order online again from REI I will check off the “drop off at store” option. REI needs to stick with delivery by the USPS, FedEx, UPS, or other major carrier. The discount carriers are unreliable.

These shoes are so spongy comfy while also being supportive for hiking. I tried on so many pairs before coming back to On. My feet are in-between a regular and wide width and the Cloudhorizons are perfect. In fact all On shoes fit like this one. Love the green color too, and super waterproof.

They’re fine-ish, but I wouldn’t buy them again. They look nice enough and can be worn around town as well as on light to medium hikes. They’re moderately comfortable, but after about 5-6 miles of light hiking and walking my feet wanted out. I don’t feel that the laces actually secure the shoe like in other low top hikers I’ve had in the past. My feet slipped forward in the shoe pretty consistently on downhills, especially as the shoe broke in more. My biggest issue, however, is how the inner lining bled through the waterproof outer upper on a warm day when my feet got a little sweaty. The upper is visibly stained a dark gray (I have the Cinder color) and isn’t drying out or coming off at all. This is super poor work from OnCloud, especially in a $200 shoe. Yes, I know, GTX isn’t breathable and waterproofs usually aren’t my top choice on warm days but I packed these as my daily driver for a trip to Scotland. These shoes are by far the hottest waterproofs I’ve ever owned. Will be returning them when I get home.
