Overall this is a very good shoe for me and I would buy again. It seems to be well constructed, and it is a good value when on sale. I am an older male so my feet have less natural cushion than younger people. My use is relatively light, a lot of walking on pavement or soils, not much rock. It has more than usual room in the front toe area so I wear a heavier sock which is needed because the sole cushioning is not particularly comfortable. I feel like I can feel the outside sole lugs on my feet. It has the typical thin compressed foam(?) insole (pic) so I may substitute this with a gel insole or something with more cushion. I recommend for those needing a roomier shoe in their size for thick socks.
I needed a wider toe boot. Tried a few designs from keen at the store. My size varies from 9.5 to 10 (42 to 43) Decided to try a light cushion sock with a low shoe in a 9.5. But after a several mile hike they were a little too short. The next day I thought that they would work well with a flat peddle mountain bike. Yes ! Simply the most comfortable bike shoe yet. Definitely a keeper. Next purchase will be a mid height boot in a size 10 for hiking.
This is from a guy who is old and walks A LOT. The shoes feel good early and are substantial enough to hold their shape. My best friends say they look pretty good and I agree. I liked the help from REI with shipping ... a small effort on their part got me the shoes on time for me! In a year I'll tell you if they lasted. Seems like a good shoe that will last awhile and that I might wear anywhere,
A very solid hiking shoe, but also somewhat stiff, especially on the sides of forward shoe box area. Am trying some wooden stretcher blocks at ball of foot to widen and soften them. Love the color.
Overall too large for my narrow foot, exchanged for a different boot brand.
Size was spot on. The toe is not as wide as usual. Overall quality is not as good as my last pair of keens
I have worn keen shoes for years, because the foot box was wide enough for my feet. These aren't. Buy them only if you don't need the old keen fit.
Keen hikers have always been a great shoe for me, since I retired they are my daily wear, very comfortable and durable. I bought these on sale (graet price from REI) and retired my 2 year old pair. These are a little stiffer but just needs to be broken in.
Love it!! I bought these mainly for light hikes, and travel. Especially travel. One pair of these goes with all casual attire. I love how roomy it feels in the front. This tremendously helps during long days where you can’t remove your shoes throughout.
Keen shoes are well made and known for comfort. Compared to my Merril Moabs, these Keen shoes are slightly disappointing. The Merrils are more comfortable and lace up better. The build quality of the Keens are good.
