Rubbed raw

I really wanted to love these after having a bunch of cheaper, non-trail shoes. The inside is a suede-ish material so your feet won't slide around when you hike, but that means when you put them on, it pushes your socks down on your toes super tight. You have to put your socks on loosely then when you put the shoe on, hope they fall in the right spot. Then, I stood and walked around the house for less than 5 minutes. The VERY hard and inflexible tongue dug into the front of my ankles (like the anterior tendon) leaving a painful, raw area. After less than 5 minutes!!!! Even with thick socks, it still hurt. Hard to tell from the picture, but it was red and skin was starting to rub away. Space in the toe box was awesome. Insole was surprisingly comfortable and had a little Arch support hump. I unfortunately had to return them to try something else.

Not easy to put on

IF I had tried on these shoes in a store I would not have bought them. They turned out to be good walking shoes but are: 1. A big pain to put on because of the friction of the textured lining that grabs my sock. I need to pull out the laces and the tongue of the shoe as far back as possible to settle my socked foot into the shoe comfortably. Else the socks are twisted and bunched up around my foot and one cannot walk in that condition. Someone else commented on this and I should have paid heed. 2. The plastic tongue feels thin and cheap and I expect it to rip anytime soon.

Awesome shoes!

I bought these in the dusty olive color a couple of months ago and decided to get the sparrow color during the 20% member sale going on now. They are super light weight. The tongue was a bit rigid as mentioned in other reviews, but that went away for me by the third wear. I love Vasque & I’m in love with these shoes!

Great on ice

I've had these for a while now. I love these shoes. There a little nerdy looking, but they are very roomy and comfortable. There the only sneakers I'll wear in the winter when it's slippery outside. It seems like the shoes have great grip (even on ice). I've never gotten a blister from wearing these.

Gave me horrible blisters

Seemed like a quality shoe, has good support, and I liked how roomy the toe was. Downside is they caused me horrible bloody blisters on the back of my heel, starting with a short neighborhood walk to test them out. I gave them a few more chances with different socks, moleskin, etc, to no avail. I returned them.

Comfort does it!

Vasque has been my go to hiking shoe for years. These are very comfortable. More relaxed than my older ones. Like the color, too.

Great shoes! but specific socks are needed.

I love these shoes for doing light field work! I do agree with the comments that the structure of the shoe holds your feet really tight so specific socks are needed. I've found that loose wool socks work best with this shoe and I don't get blisters. But if I wear tight cotton socks I'll get blisters from the friction.

literally wear them everywhere

First of all, the color options are awesome. Women's colors are always teal and bright purple (not that there is anything wrong with that), but having darker, richer, color options is a plus. The fit is perfect. Wider toe, supportive heel and ankle. The zero drop makes these great for doing any activity (biking, walking the dog, hiking, going to the grocery store!). The Vibram outsole makes the tread sticky so no slippage on trail or rocks. The synthetic upper is super protective and seems very durable - like they will last a while. They took about 3 wears to break in, but I haven't taken them off since.

Nice shoe!

The first time I wore these they were perfect. The second time a blister formed above my heel, but I’m using a temp pad there, so I think it will work out. Yes, the tongue is stiff, but I haven’t found it causes problems by or any discomfort. I love the wide toe box and the burgundy color. They’re lightweight and have nice tread!

Amazing shoes

The very wide front is a must for foot health and this shoe delivers! The tongue is stiff because it’s protecting you from moisture, I have no doubt it will get more comfy as I wear them. I love vasque and adore these shoes!
