Wore these almost every day on a month long trip to Japan. They were super comfortable out of the box, but within two weeks of city walking and a few short hikes they started to fall apart. The rubber on the toes is peeling and the soles are coming apart on the heels. The black dye from the tongue and/or stitching also bled onto the suede after they got a little wet. I really wanted to love these shoes, but they’re just not durable enough to justify the price.
For years, I’ve been a diehard Keen fan preferring the sandals to the sneakers. I’ve watched the quality of Keen drop DRAMATICALLY over the years with sandals coming apart in a year. I’ve had these particular shoes for maybe two months, have done ONE 5 mile hike and some moderate use out and about. They. Are. Falling. Apart. The foam (why are we using delicate foam on a hiking shoe) has already scraped away. The rubber on the tips of the toes is coming off. The fabric is fraying. These are a laughable quality. Do not waste your money. REI would do well to avoid Keen as their products are in absolute decline. The saddest part is that the shoes are comfy as heck.
I can’t give these sneakers enough love! Not only do they look good on my feet, are stylish, but the #1 thing I love about them is that they make my feet feel good! I have problems with the bottoms of my feet always hurting if I’m on them a too much. I don’t know what it is about Keen, but they feel heavenly on my feet even after a long day. And I love the grip the soles have. My only gripe is the laces aren’t very forgiving when trying to loosen them. But you are only spending a few minutes putting them on or taking them off compared to the comfort of wearing all day. I can deal with it!
I love this shoe. I bought it locally on a whim in a different color, loved it so much I went back to buy in this blue color. Unfortunately the store did not have the blue so I ordered online. I wear jeans most of the time and these shoes are a fun color. The toe box is very comfortable, the treads are perfect for walking in winter weather. No rubbing on the heels. Great shoe!
I was concerned that the shoes might not be wide enough, as they look somewhat narrow in the toe area. But they fit well and I have room to move my toes. I did add a Keen High Arch Insert which seems to be a good option for me. The insert was quite easy to cut to size, as several sizes are indicated on the insert itself and you just trim away the part you don’t need for your size shoe. Walked 3+ miles the first time I wore them and my feet felt fine afterwards. No blisters, rubbing or feeling of constriction. They’re also a nice hybrid of hiking shoe and lighter, more streamlined design. These are the only shoes I plan to take on an upcoming 6-week trip to Europe.
I got a pair of Keens from the local thrift store months ago and loved them so much I knew I’d love to have another pair of Keens in my lineup. I’ve had these shoes for a little over a week and I’ve worn them to work, out running errands, and on a 5 mile hike and they’ve been very comfortable, versatile, lightweight, and seem very durable! Not to mention they’re the CUTEST hikers! Love the colorway and silhouette, all in all a very aesthetic yet functional shoe. In my opinion, these are definitely up there with the Salomon xt6 in terms of aesthetic but as far as functionality and feel I like these even better!
I love these shoes. I was confused about which size to order as reviews were somewhat contradictory..My feet have lengthened as I've aged, so I went with a 7.5. my heel is small while the front of my foot is wide and I need height in the toe box. Though they have a sleeker profile than my Keen hiking boots my toes had enough room to spread out and grip, while my heel felt stable and secure. I got the green with orange laces and black trim. They beautiful and fun. They are cushiony and have great arch support. A super successful purchase.
I got these shoes for light trail hiking. They have a sturdy sole and are very comfortable for hiking. The problem with this shoe is the too small and impractical tongue. It is a single piece of leather. No reinforcement and no cushioning. It is very short and somewhat narrow, barely covering the laces. Also makes it harder to get them on because it’s hard to grab. Never had this issue with a shoe before!
Super cute and comfy! But I got them yesterday and noticed that the rubber on the toe has already started to peel off. I didn’t do anything crazy in them so I’m worried go see what they’ll look like after a hike
Fun rugged sneaker for exploring a city or moderate - easy hike. I have a wide foot. For me it was true to size.
