Good design, poor execution
It's clearly inspired by Hydro Flask, and does a good job keeping drinks cold. I've never noticed a metallic taste so I suppose the glass lining is doing it's job. My love/hate with this bottle falls on the Union Top. It's an awesome spout, whether I'm driving or laying in bed. After six months the seal has failed, and this bottle will leak EVERYWHERE before you can blink. Wet car seats, wet jackets, wet *anything* you keep near this bottle. I wish it wasn't the most frustrating water bottle I've ever owned because the first six months were great. I gave the company the opportunity to fix it, but they won't email me back. I guess this is where the REI satisfaction guarantee is really helpful.
Bottle itself is great but not the lid
I love it. The water never taste better. No that it makes water taste better but it didn't add anything to my water ever. As good as any other glass bottles. Way better than silicon and I would never use any stainless steel ever. However, the lid design is pretty bad. (1) the lid is hard to open or close tight. (2) the metal handle loop will start to get loose if you use it to help open and close the lid and eventually comes off. (3) After using it for about half year, the lid will start to leak. And their lid is not cheap. Then I need to replace in regular basis. Not sure what I should do about this concern now.

Great design, POOR execution. Have two of these (not so cheap) water bottles and now on my 4th lid. 1st one broke at the treads, 2nd leaked if not closed perfectly or super tight or some sort of combo of the two, 3rd leaked coffee all over my car. You’d want to think a bottle with a lid would hold liquids in a horizontal position, but I would trust this brand. I tried contacting Purist and they have yet to respond. I’ve read a bunch of reviews with this same problem, and I don’t think they care.
finally a bottle without metal taste!
until now, I'd only used glass water bottles. my family uses hydroflask, swell, yeti and everything in between. they used to make fun of me for carrying a glass bottle that doesn't even keep temperature of beverage inside. But I couldn't help it. I just cannot stand the taste of stainless steel. This bottle is absolutely the best. The glass coating definitely eliminates the metal taste. And the water keeps its hot and cold really well. And it is a huge plus to have such a cool design. I absolutely love this bottle. It turns heads. people notice and ask me what it is all the time.
looks great and keeps Water cold for hours
Absolutely love this bottle! Was on the hunt for a long time for a bottle without a straw that was easy to open/drink out of without taking off the lid entirely. I get a ton of complements on this bottle all the time. It holds a lot of water so you don’t have to refill more than 2 or 3 times a day. It also keeps water really cold for a long time. Absolutely love it — highly recommend for day to day. Not as much for trail since it would add extra unnecessary weight. It’s also easy to clean and very durable.
bought this after using the travel mug
I started off with the travel mug and after using and liking that for a few weeks, I got the matching bottle. I did switch out the lid to the telescoping because I found this top difficult to pop open. It's so vain, but I don't want to get those little circumoral smoker's lines from constantly puckering my lips, so that's another reason I ditched this straw lid.I understand other reviews have said this leaks, but I haven't experienced that. Although, I don't just throw it around and let it roll everywhere. Maybe operator error?
Love bottle HATE Union top tweeting sound
Love both 32 & 18 oz BOTTLES but HATE the Union top issues - have had 3 lids so far… one leaked after bottle dropped ~2ft, another just started leaking... all 3 also tweet loudly when drinking. Love the covered mouthpiece for hygiene but the tweeting drives everyone crazy so I can only use the bottles when I am solo. Purist, please, please fix this issue!!! Otherwise a 5-star product!
Beautiful design but lasted a month!
I think this water bottle is really pretty to look at and I loved the idea of the glass insulated. However, as reviews have stated below the lid malfunctioned/did not seal properly. Mine lasted a month before it is not useable. Repurchasing a lid just seams wasteful- I have replaced this bottle with a hydroflask. The second smaller issue- i ordered this in bone and it actually looks light gray. Was not my favorite. I would not recommend you purchase this bottle.

Love this bottle! Because of the glass inner lining, I can put any kind of hot or cold drinks in it without worrying about it getting scummy. Love the flip-top sipping lid, too. I got the white one, which shows it's scuff marks, but it is very tough otherwise. I've even dropped it on a concrete floor with no damage.
Honest thoughts
Although this water bottle is a little heavy it has not leaked once, keeps water ice cold for a 12 hours period. The glass lining does make a difference in taste, I have mixed different liquids and my water tastes the exact same and there is no left over smell. I would recommend over a hydroflask for that reason.
