Color Fading
Poor quality, color started fading and looks like I walked in the white paint.
Good idea, Fatal Flaw
Heavy and a bit small, but sturdy and warm. I purchased to wear to and after fly fishing in the winter...wanted slip on and the only complaint is that the back doesn't really slip on and the neoprene is too tight on back of heel. It's downright uncomfortable on the heel, and couldn't be worn long. I took scissors and split the neoprene on the heel. Hoping that will help.
Great comfort
Incredibly comfortable slip-on. There's no padding built into the sole, Ã la brands like Merrell, Oboz, and Keen, but the insole is the thickest and most supportive I've ever come across. Insulation is light, but definitely helps on top of warm socks. Grip is also quite good, as I learned in the recent late-season snowstorm that hit Portland. Very happy overall.
Comfortable All Day Shoe
I got these for a closed shoe to wear in the garden and workshop. The show can be worn with or without socks, my feet sweat either way but they are comfortable. The extra cushion in the heel does feel like a spring pushing back on my heel. At first this was a little awkward but quickly you adjust to the cushion and spring. Outside in the muck and mud and trails for yard work they work great keeping my feet clean and easy to wipe. Also they are waterproof for standing in puddles or mud if required. Inside I wear them around the shop. They provide grip on a sawdust covered floor. They also keep fine particles from getting all over my feet or socks. Overall I have worn these for several full weekends of work both inside and outside and they are comfortable. My heels are not trashed or pounded from standing around on concrete all day. I do say outside on trails or uneven ground you might roll and ankle easy, they cushion your step which can make it easy to loose grip on the earth. I noticed this when out in the woods. I had to correct a few times when the ground was uneven the foot wanted to slip out or roll. Otherwise they are great garden and house shoes.
Great gardening shoes!
Ordered these for yard work and gardening, and after several months of varied outside tasks, I pronounce them perfect. Oblivious to mud and water (up to about 3 inches), don't show dirt or the ugly places they have been. Easy on and off: a nice compromise between stepping in easily (not quite) and slipping off while working (no way). I did have to return to get the right size: usually wear a man's 10, these come wide and large, so a 9 seems a perfect fit.
A great sloppy day shoe
Have worn these out during an 8" snowstorm. Even though they are low, they kept my feet warm and dry. I normally wear a 12 and that's what these are; they fit well with a pair of medium-weight wool socks. They feel stable in the snow, no sense of slipping on the sidewalk as I shoveled. They have the appearance a bit of "rubbers" so probably not an everyday shoe, but I bought them for sloppy yard work and dog walking and they seem great for that.
Durable water proof shoe
I had purchased a pair of Sauvie Slip Ons a couple of years ago because they were water proof and quick to put on and take off. They were beginning to show some wear and since I liked the shoe I decided to buy another pair. Fortunately the same model was still being made. My feet do get warm on some of the hotter days and cold on colder days but the rest of the time they are comfortable and above all water proof.
Rugged for outdoor wear
My new Boggs look great; they're well-made, and fit well. The bottom of the soles are rugged enough to give me the kind of grip I need on uneven, sloped outdoor surfaces. This is my second pair. My first pair I bought years ago for yardwork and shoveling snow, because they keep my feet dry, are easy to clean, and provide good foot support. I did insert arch supports, but otherwise my Boggs are comfortable.
Wear them every day.
I used to buy the Urban Walkers which have been discontinued. These Sauvie are a looser fit than the Urban Walkers. They are comfortable, easy on and off, and the soles are thicker which will last a lot longer. I just wish they fit like the Urban Walkers. 4 stars because of fit. I thought they would feel like the others since it's the same company.
Out of stock.
Very disappointed. I returned the pair I received, as they were small. The website showed the next size (8) was available. Immediately advised Bogs of the size problem, and returned the size 7 within two days. By the time I was notified the return was complete, I was also advised the size I needed was no longer in stock. Very disappointed!!!
