Feets Don’t Fail Me Now!
Was looking for an all-in-one shoe for my trip to Paris. Paris is an excellent hiking/walking town, and we put in a lot of miles. So I needed a show that was a comfy hiker, good tread, leather/water proof (reasonably, with some added Mink Oil) AND did not so much look like I was back packing … good for restaurants, etc. This shoe is perfect! It’s early days still, but I’ve hit the ground running (walking) with these guys and no discomfort, snug yet not constrictive, supple yet sturdy & supportive, breathes, good wide toe box and looks very cool. Higgghhhly recommended for urban hiking. Probably good in the hills too.

Warning, quality control issues in footpad.
Loved my Targhee 3 and was able to wear nearly every day to the office and the field for several years. I was excited about the new Oxford style but found the footpad had random bumps in one but not the other. Clearly a manufacturing error. Took them back to REI and ordered a second pair. Same issue of random bumps in toe area this time smaller but still noticeable in one shoe and not the other. Apparently Keen can't get quality control right. Will be discharging anyone from getting these and very conscious about shoe mold quality if I ever get a keen again.

Great walking hiking shoes

This new version have a very strong mid sole feel to them, for some I would guess the mid sole feel might seem to constrain or feel constaining to your feet especially if you are use to loose shoes .But it is the strength of the design which gives support to your instep arch area. I would say it does add to the strength of the shoe. The out sole is very grippy and also after ten miles of walking in them the sole is retaining it tread well. I would recommend these to anyone who need and require foot support. Thank again for a very good product

One of the best tpair of shoes I've ever had

These very well may be the best shoes I have ever owned. They fit comfortably and broke in quick. They clean up nicely after getting them dirty. They aren't out of place teaching in the classroom, hiking in the desert, or going to church or just wearing them around the house. I've worn them just about every day for the last 4 months and after a clean up, they look better than they did coming new out of the box. One thing I appreciate as a bigger guy(who is losing weight now) is that they hold up really really well. I wish I would have bought these years ago.

6 months in- so far, so good

Waited awhile before writing a review. These are very comfortable. As this is my first-ever pair of Keen shoes- I don’t have any comparison from former models. However they are built with durable materials. Oh- and they are very comfortable!

Targhee IV not an upgrade

I have owned and loved at least 4 pairs Targhee III hiking boots and shoes, but the Targhee IV's just don't fit the same. The insole is unbearably unsupportive for my high arches. I am on my feet all day and was coming home with sore, aching feet every evening. I tried replacing the insole, but now there is too much pressure across the top of my foot no matter how I adjust the laces. Will be returning.

Great shoe!

A bit clunky but great fitting shoe for hiking and walking. Big toe box. Runs large - I normally wear a 12.5-13, 12 fits well with thick socks.

Simple style, nice leather, great toe protection

I have feet that are wide at the heel, very wide at the ball, and with high insteps. It was difficult for me to find off-the-shelf shoes that were comfortable until Keen came out with their wide sizes. I own 4 styles now. They were all pretty good straight out of the box, and after a few miles of wearing-in, they are all very comfortable. Three of those styles run a half-size small, and one of them (Men's Newport Leather Sandal Wide) runs at least a full size small.

Amazing for People on Their Feet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a school principal and am on my feet for 10+ hours per day. For the past decade I have only work Targhee IV shoes. These are are extremely comfortable and durable and are my annual go to shoes for school. At the end of the year they become my yard work shoes and I push the to their limits. These shoes are amazingly comfortable, extremely durable, and well worth the investment.

Great Shoes

My feet swear profusely from the time I put my shoes on in the morning until I take them off at night. These are by far the best shoe I have ever owned to prevent my feet from sweating. All day comfort. I have tried A LOT of shoes over the years and settled on Keens a few years ago. I don't find this style to be the most stylish but I'll easily take the trade off.
