Good overall.
The Merrell Wrapt M has been my favorite footwear for the two years I’ve worn it. It was also my first-ever barefoot shoe, and once I tried it, I didn’t want to go back. Although, from what I understand, this model is far from the most minimal barefoot design—the sole is relatively rigid, even if it’s thin. Anyway, these shoes are great! They maintain a good balance between insulation and breathability. For short urban commutes, you can comfortably wear them down to about 7–10 degrees Celsius. The sole is, by design, best suited for natural surfaces. On wet indoor tiles, for instance, it’s much more slippery than one might expect. However, I did experience one drawback: My heel is naturally narrow, so I tend to compensate by overtightening the shoelaces. I assume this created excess strain, and because of that, the toe tip partially came unglued. It happened relatively early, too, which is a shame, because otherwise the shoe is robust and hasn’t shown significant signs of wear. This is why I rate it 4 stars instead of 5, even though they fit superb, I could probably wear them 24/7 and have no soreness. I will definitely be looking for other Merrell products to buy.
Feels unique to my foot
Bought the FUNGI 10.5. Shipping was on time as anticipated! The material alone is exceptional and well-assembled. The shoe size was an EXACT 10.5 to a 10.5 Vans or Nike Vapor fly running shoe for comparison so if you want to go a size up for swelling, that would be beneficial. One of my shoelaces had a tear in it. Overall, will buy again! Awesome shoes
Buyer beware
Just bought these shoes and I cannot wear them because they are very poorly constructed. The left shoe is larger than the right shoe and wider, one shoe doesn't have enough material so that there is a gap when tying it, one shoe has a higher back and more rubber than the other, basically completely uneven construction and unwearable
Great feel, but not durable
I’ve had these for just under 6 months; wearing about 2-3 days per week. Terrific fit and feel. The upper is very durable, however, the outsole tread is very soft and has nearly worn through at the heel. The sole traction and grip is very good in dry conditions, but very slippery in wet conditions on hard surfaces (i.e. concrete and macadam). The fabric on the inside of the heel counter has also worn through. I don’t wear them barefoot, but with merino wool ankle socks.
So comfortable for being at the gym.
All the shoes these days are so much foam. The souls of these are rubber, and give amazing grip. I do yoga, pilates, and Les Mills classes and I need these for their stability. Not saying I'm biased but after I bought them, I went back and bought two more pair. The two most important things you can do for yourself is buy yourself good shoes and a mattress because you spend so much time on them. Merrell is a great shoe company.
Rubber toe area coming apart
I have these shoes for just 2 months, and they are very comfortable. However the rubber toe areas are coming apart. I think they should be redesigned to wrap the rubber a bit higher so it won't tear when tripping over rocks on hikes.
Perfect Barefoot shoes
I love these wrapt. Excellent shoe. Comfortable, sturdy, light and offer a contact with the ground. When I ran marathons, this shoe would have been my #1 choice.
Amazing Shoe
Amazing Shoe. One of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Sturdy, great arch, and excellent padding. Its like walking on a cloud
Mud collectors
Comfortable, but dirtiest shoes ever. They trap mud and can't be wiped or stomped out. They track mud everywhere. I am embarrassed.
Great lightweight hikers
I wanted a pair of lightweight hikers that would pack easily in a suitcase for travel. I went to Alaska and hiked on wet rocky trails and the shoes proved to be excellent. They were comfortable right out of the box. The waffle sole gripped wet slippery stones as well as any shoe I have ever used. I’m 6’1”/225lb wearing size 13. The toe has a nice boxy shape allowing more front freedom. I wore them all day and never felt the need to take them off as with heavier shoes. They are low cut so do not give ankle support as with higher cut heavier shoes but I found that the close fit helped me manage rocky trails without issue.
