The bag itself is perfect! Super bright color, love the multiple pockets for different ease of accessibility. Where I messed up was not realizing that even though I'm plus sized, a plus sized pack was not the right choice. The straps are too long for my short torso and set widely apart. Very light and I would imagine comfortable for wider shoulders. I am 5'1" and 190 for comparison.
I was so excited for this plus size pack launch. My biggest issues with regular backpacks are the straps for both the shoulders and across the chest and this plus size design really delivered on those improvement. The straps are a great width and sit more evenly across my shoulders, the chest strap is way easier to adjust and actually feels supportive but the best part is that the shoulder straps don't dig under my arm or into neck! It's so comfortable and has way better weight distribution to keep my back from hurting, even when I wear it biking its still so comfortable. Added bonus is the super fun color! No more dull black backpack! This one has now become my everyday pack and I can't wait to upgrade my 60L for backpacking.
We're pumped that you're excited!
The Nano 20 is anything but basic, with a breathable backpanel and stretch exterior pocket. It's 20-liter capacity can handle a surprising amount of gear, whether you’re just knocking around town, tackling trails, or hitting every sight worth seeing on an overseas vacation. The shoulder straps were the biggest miss for me with this one. I’ve seen other rave reviews for the pack so it may have just been my body shape. My recommendation is to absolutely try it on in store before ordering as it a good fit seems to be very shape dependent.
A few sticking points for me with this item. The biggest one is the water bottle pockets. So very difficult to fit a standard Nalgene in these pockets. If somehow I do get them to fit in the pockets, they have a tendency to work themselves out. Always, always, always carabiner these to the bag! Another place I see for improvement is just a bit more rigidity in the frame. The bag is a bit floppy for a 20L bag. For me, the center pocket gets lost. I’m either opening the rear pocket or the front…the zipper for the center seems to disappear in the folds of the fabric. Lastly, the waist strap…I don’t use it. This is a Plus size bag, and the waist strap is long. There is a place to tuck the waist strap into the bag, but it constantly falls out, and I often walk with the waist strap flying in the wind behind me. So close, yet not quite there Gregory.
This bag fits great. I’m short and thick and it’s super comfortable. I’m excited to use this for day hikes when I go to Sedona in March. The down side is that there isn’t a spot to tuck the waist straps if you decide not to use them all the time. It’s a good bag overall though and I’ll be using it to carry my laptop and lunch to work for the time being. Nice job Gregory on putting together such an inclusive and affordable bag 👍
Love that Gregory makes plus size packs to fit more bodies. I have a larger day pack for longer hikes but wanted something smaller and lighter for shorter adventures. This pack was just what I was looking for! Small but still had plenty of room - I could fit a sweatshirt, water bottle, and other essentials, or also just right for my camera and tripod.
Great bag. Plus size fit was a must as I am a large guy (6'0" 315lbs). Construction of the bag was great. Separately purchased bladder fit well in pack and left room for day trip essentials. Wish the hip strap was removable since it is just a 1 inch web strap and pack is not tall enough for proper body placement on my frame.
Super happy to have plus size options! I never bothered investing in a nice backpack before, but I’m so glad I did. It’s extremely comfortable and seems durable. The real is cute, although I hope that they will have more color options in the plus sizes eventually.
I have had this backpack for two weeks now and I can truly say I have never had a backpack this comfortable. I am a 6’3” man with broad shoulders and this is the first time in my 34 years on this earth that I have a backpack that truly fits me. Thank you Gregory!
I used this as a daypack on a 2 week National Park roadtrip. The bag was comfortable. The size of the bag was great for day use. It held everything I needed and more. Would highly recommend a gregory pack. I love the size inclusivity.
