When I decided to invest in a good quality hiking backpack, I started researching different brands to make sure I find the perfect bag for me and my husband. I can't begin to tell you how amazing the Juno and Citro bags are!!!!!! First, I absolutely love the universal measurements for men and women, you dont need to worry about this at all! the fit was perfect for both me and my husband. the straps are adjustable at the hip, shoulder and back making it perfect for everyone. I decided to go with the 30L because I needed a bag I can use for any sort of hiking no matter the length or difficulty of the hike The size was perfect, I can put all my essentials and still have room if I ever decided on taking extra things, like a towel, water shoes or even extra clothes the weight difference between the 30L and smaller size was not that significant to me. They really thought about every detail on this bag!!! you have a place to set your sunglasses, and your poles which was amazing!!! i didnt feel the weigh of the poles on me at all the bag comes with a water bladder which was a plus!! the bladder was amazing, we had no issues with it at all, no leaking and easy to clean. We hiked at Mt Rainier and it held great, there were some rainy days and the bag held it self well, it's not water proof (they dont claim it is) so I do recommend getting a raincover but the insides werent soaking with water. I love this bag so much and I do recommend it to anyone! amazing bag!
The Juno is amazing!!! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and don’t have a lot of strength. I have been working on being able to hike with my family like I used to. We went to Great Smokey National Park, and I wanted to try some day hikes. I was concerned about the weight of the Juno filled, but it was a lot lighter than I thought it would be with the bladder full, snacks, sunscreen, repellent, and a second set of shoes. When we came home, I took it to the beach. It’s so light I put it on the back of my empty beach chair, and the chair did not tip over. I am in love with my Juno!!!!
I wanted a day hiking pack. This was perfect. It had lots of little pockets and the belt fit snuggly. I was able to carry food, med kit, change of clothes and mess kit with room to carry others gear. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars was the side belt pickets didn’t my phone. I had to keep taking my pack off to grab pictures. I also didn’t like the bladder bite valve. It has this little plastic piece that has to be opened and pushed up each time. Mine broke off within the first hour of use. I like the camel back bite valves better. But other than those two minor things, it was great!
I am really impressed with the Juno 30 H20! I had a hydration pack years ago and I hated it because it would never fully dry. I had heard great things about Gregory's packs though so I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! The item arrived quickly after I ordered it. The reservoir is super easy to remove from the pack and wash. I did have some trouble getting the hose to curve and properly attach to the magnet on the front of the shoulder strap, but I figured it out after a few tries. I only filled the reservoir 2/3rds full (2 liters), as I was only going on a 3 mile hike. I was pleasantly surprised at how light the pack felt, even with 2 liters of water. I have a 6 month old baby, and my primary reason for wanting a hydration pack is that it's hard to stop and drink water on our outdoor adventures, and I've found myself getting dehydrated more than once this summer. Having the ability to just grab the bite valve and drink, even when I'm holding my baby or pushing her stroller, was a huge lifesaver! As a bonus, I was also able to fit plenty of diapers, wipes, changing supplies, and baby bottles in the many pockets in the pack, along with sunscreen and bug spray in the front stretch pocket. My first outing with this pack was on a sweltering early July Alabama afternoon, and I greatly appreciated the ventilated suspension with moisture wicking mesh. Normally after a summertime hike I end up drenched in sweat under my pack, but I was pleasantly back sweat-free after using the Juno 30 H20 pack. After our hike, I emptied the reservoir and hung it up in my shower using the drying hanger. It was fully dry in a couple of days. I look forward to continuing to use it on my stroller-hikes, and I know that once my kid is hiking age we will get even more use out of it on longer hikes.
I’m a fan of Gregory bag packs and this is my third one. The other 2 had been Jade 28, which are my ultimate day pack. This Juno 30 would be another go to. Just like the Jade, this feels great and well balanced for a female frame. I pack heavy even for day hike since I am one of those that brings all the essentials and then some. The pack does not feel heavy even after slugging 10+ miles in high elevation hikes. The softly padded curved back allows air to circulate on my back so no sweaty back. I also like that it has a separate compartment for the 3L hydration bladder. Super easy to pack it in. Now, the only thing I would add to this great bagpack is a rain cover. But not a big deal to me, because I can use the one in my Jade pack. It would just be nice to have it in already, so I don’t have to think about it when I go. Also, the small front electronic zippered pocket could be a little bigger and roomier. I like to put my headlamp, sunglasses, power pack and other small items I need in this pocket to easily access without having to rummage in the main compartment or in the front mesh pocket. Overall, this is a great bagpack for women’s and highly recommend.
I liked this pack just fine for the first month or so I had it, but then the internal frame broke. A big nasty metal wire from the frame then poked a hole in the side of the pack, and would poke me when I reached back. The hipbelt pockets (which are too tiny for anything but chapstick and shot blocks) started tearing in the back corners, which doesn't seem like a spot that should receive much wear. The hydration bladder was always awkward to close, but after some use it got pretty touchy about lining up the threads exactly to screw it in. That said, it still worked fine if you could remember not to get stabbed, and someone who doesn't use their pack as heavily as I do probably wouldn't have these issues as fast. It's a great color. The airspace against your back works like a charm to minimize sweaty back, and it was comfortable. There aren't a lot of inside pockets, so you can really pack a lot into the 28L you have.
The set-up of the backpack is great. There are enough pockets so that I feel like I could comfortably hold my small items for quick access as well as large and adjustable pockets for larger items. The structure in pack makes it more comfortable to carry over packs without the structure. I've used it for both urban commuting and hikes. The pockets are easy access for both small and large items. Many aspects of the pack are adjustable to make sure that what you're carrying is not loose and moving about (and that you can organize small items). The bladder magnet can be improved, but I've been placing it in the pocket on the side for stability.
Like another Gregory pack I tried, the packs frame was uncomfortable at the corners (on hips and at shoulders). They’re not cushioned well, you can feel the corners clearly. The pack size also cannot be adjusted to make the torso length longer or shorter. The reservoir is amazing, though like other reviewers, I also found the magnet to be too weak to hold the hose. Fortunately, if you buy the reservoir separately, those come with a magnet on the bite valve and a magnet clip that you can attach to any day pack. I recommend buying that product and a better pack instead.
This was the perfect sized pack for day hikes with my family. The ergonomics of the pack were fantastic. The ventilated suspension of the frame made it feel like I had the benefits of my bigger backpacking pack, but in a smaller container. There were a lot of convenient pockets and i loved the easy clip in for the hydration pouch. The only downside I would add is the hose clip/sternum buckle broke the very first time I used it. Unfortunately this makes it very difficult to use the pack because the sternum buckle is no longer functional.
This pack has some great features and is worth trying on. But ultimately the fit was not great for me. Good focus on some details: 1. I love the larger hip pockets. My phone fit nicely and a large selection of quick grab snacks. 2. As a frequent sunglasses dropper, the holder is convenient. 3. The pockets way outshine some other packs in its class. Easy to access smaller pockets allows quick access and/or protection for smaller items. 4. The handle and overall design of the hydration reservoir is a big plus compared to my older camelbak reservoirs. Unfortunately, the fit did not suit my frame. The straps angle in a way that squeezed my chest in. My collarbone is very sensitive and it didn't take to the straps, but that may just be personal to me. Overall, this pack has enough pluses to make taking a look worth your while, but it won't suit everyone.
