Great new updated design!!!

I got this as an upgrade from my Talon 33. I have only hiked about 20 miles with it but I already like it allot. The new zippered top design makes accessing items in the pack allot easier than the top flap on the Talon 33. It rides comfortably on the back with both a heavy and light load. Unlike some other packs I have had I find that the Talon 36 does not flop around. When well adjusted for your size it follows your movements really well. The pack is very adjustable which allows shorter members in my household to use it too. The hydration bladder is placed on the outside of the pack, next to your back, which makes it easy to refill and you do not have to worry about leaks in the main compartment. Well done Osprey!

Good Day Hiking Pack for the Whites

I’ve been using this pack for almost a year now. Things I like about it- lightweight, easy to organize my gear in it, durable fabrics and hardware, easy loading hydration pocket. The one thing I don’t like about it is the stretch pocket on the left carrying strap. I can’t fit much of anything in it and it comes unsnapped so much I have tied it permanently shut with string. Also, it feels a little small on my torso despite being adjusted as tall as it can go. Otherwise, I’m happy with it overall. Teamed up with a rain cover this is a good working pack.

Defective Chest Strap

The chest strap came defective. One side is significantly higher than the other and it is non-adjustable. My shoulder feels very uncomfortable. Got to get it replaced but I am not around the country at the moment.

Darn near perfect

Purchased and just took my first day hike. Reduces fatigue greatly. Great storage capacity. I really like the zippered top over the flap version. Just great!

Practical and suitable size for short trips.

36 liters of capacity may not seem like much, but this backpack has enough space and extended capacity with the side water tanks and waist bags. The specifications do not indicate that it has an aluminum frame, but this detail makes it comfortable by providing good support to the back and allowing direct loading on the waist.

Somewhat Disappointed

I bought this to replace an ageing Talon 33, as I wanted a slighty larger sack. The 36 is not a good as the 33: - the outer top pocket is too small to contain all my small items - the zip-up lid with its flap is fiddly to open and close, particularly with gloves on. I can foresee a problem with the zip freezing up under extreme conditions. - although a larger sack, the top opening is actually smaller than that of the 33, making it difficult to get stuff sacks in and out.

A very convenient daypack that

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A very convenient daypack that can be taken as a carry-on for domestic flights. It can also be used a light backpack when you are taking daylong walking trips. I like the two zip opening at the top instead of a drawcord. This makes loading and unloading the backpack much easier. The material used is light yet very sturdy. I have also got compliments for the red color of the pack.

Great pack, slightly off dimensions

I'm a tall guy and bought this for general movement around the dense city I live in. I'm satisfied overall (I take this thing pretty much everywhere), but being on the thinner side means that the straps on the large frame model are only slightly too large (~.5 cm gap) for my shoulders. This gap is only slightly uncomfortable on very long walks or hikes.
