Osprey  Manta 24 Hydration Pack - Men's

This pack is great, I loved the 2015 16 and 17 Osprey radial backpacks which this one is very similar but the only thing this pack needs is a tablet or laptop sleeve,in the main compartment, and mesh pockets on the central compartment tablet laptop sleeve. MAYBE NEXT GEN?. I would love to see a osprey escapist like the 2013 model again. that thing rocked and that was my first pack, the best non-hard shell compartmentalized weight distributed backpack I ever had and amazing what you could pack in that thing other than that works great, perfect size for long hours of day use oh, and the attached pocket zipper system of the escapist on the backpack strap.

Very comfortable, held everything I needed for the hike that day. Weight distribution was excellent when loaded. Staff at REI fitted me and after Tyra couple bags I went with a slightly larger bag as its overall fit was a lot more comfortable.

I have two Ospreys fir different excursions. Today i tried this new one on a few miles of the AT in North Carolina. I love the pack. The only negative is i couldn't get the magnet to hold on the feeder tube from the water bladder. It kept popping loose. I will mess with it a bit

I have owned countless packs made by many of the leading and not so leading brands: backpacks, daypacks, overnighters, hydration etc. This is hands down the most intelligently designed pack of them all. Has all kinds of convenient features and is very comfortable. And it's an Osprey, so even though I've used it on only one long day hike so far, I trust it will be durable. I like lots of pockets, and this has many with some clever placements. But if your a top loader only fan, this pack may not be for you; or it may convince you to change your ways. Another bonus: this pack does not have the clear plastic loop that so many packs over the years dangle from one of the arm straps; I've never been able to figure out what the heck that is for (glasses? baseball cap?) and am glad it has been dispensed.

I’d been looking for a mid sized day pack for sometime, the Manta 24l is perfect for me. The packs I’ve looked at all had compromises in the layout but the manta has bike pack’s organisation and large storage, great for smaller items as well as larger. I’ve use it for day hikes so far in all weather and it faultless. Really comfortable even when it’s totally full of gear and fluids. Yes it’s expensive but it has everything I need and more.

The suspension system that lets your back breathe is amazing. Waist belt fits perfectly and is not too bulky. Quality material. Should last a long time.

I recently bought this as a day pack ahead of a 4 day hiking trip in the Alps. The water bladder system and the mesh back cooling feature were the main reason for buying this model over others and both aspects worked brilliantly. I would highly recommend it.

Solid day pack for longer hikes when you need to carry a lot of water or a lot of gear. This holds 25lbs pretty easily. I was looking for a pack that could carry a lot of weight but wasn’t too big for Big Bend. This pack was perfect

I would like to give a positive review, but because of their lousy customer service and even worse shipping, a poor review is all I can do. I haven't received the product YET, so my review is on customer service and shipping.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has become one of my go to packs for longer day hikes. I like the extra space to pack layers as it gets cooler and the harness fits very well. Some of the pros- I’m a water bladder guy as I’m always drinking on a hike and I like that it has a dedicated section versus being in a pocket in main area. I like the harness adjustments with actual buckle “hooks” versus Velcro or straps which seem to move a bit on my other Osprey packs. Hip belt pockets are big enough for phone and like most hip belt pockets if you open up past half way you aren’t getting it closed with one hand. Plenty of organization, I actually would have preferred less zippered sections as there are so many it seems unnecessary. Only one con for me but it’s a big one, although I use water bladder I also like to bring my water bottle and the bottle sits so deep in the pocket there is no way for me to get at it without taking off the pack. This is a big deal for me as I don’t want to take my pack off to get at my bottle. Everything else works very well so if they would just shallow out the pocket this pack would be at the front of my rotation.
