Osprey  Tempest 33 Pack - Women's

Bought this backpack for an 11-day trip to Italy - traveled to Venice for a day before hiking the Alta Via 1 (70-miles in 7 days). This backpack was the perfect size for a hut to hut trip. The two hip pockets were big enough for an iPhone 16 as well as to hold a protein bar, gel, and chapstick. The mesh pocket on the outside perfectly fit a pair of Bomba slide sandals (size 7). The pack’s size was the right size for a British Airway carryon.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would recommend this size (33L) if you’re like me and you like to carry waterproofs, emergency layers, first aid kit, suncream, map, survival blanket etc. It should fit winter kit but haven’t used it in winter yet. I enjoy the bag for long days hillwalking in Scotland where I have piece of mind that I can carry as much as I want. I’m happy that the top section has an external pocket and an internal pocket inside. The hip pockets can carry lots of snacks and can fit my phone. I got the orange/ terracotta colour which I love because it makes me visible on the hill. My only gripe is that it doesn’t have a rain cover.

Super disappointed in this revamped design from Osprey. The Tempest is comfortable as always, but the company has relocated the hydraulics system inside the pack, when it was previously located outside on the back panel. Tried hiking with this for 3 days hoping I would get used to it, but the hose just kept getting in the way and caught under my load, rendering it useless until I could stop on the trail and reposition things inside (and get chewed up by mosquitos in the process). I wanted to love this, but will probably end up having to return it and consider another brand.

This is my 3rd tempest 33. I prefer it to the pro version as it has two easy access pockets on the lid. I use these for things I may need to access often or easily. This new tempest 33 also has a better back system (like the pro version) which will hopefully reduce the gradual loss of strength and support that occurred with my previous one. I’ll still use the pro version for bad weather trips, but the tempest 33 is my ‘go to’ day sack.

It's confortable and convenient, I used it for a few days hiking and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Amazing quality, I don’t know how, but when you have a load of water food clothes etc it hardly feels like you’ve any weight on your bag. Used it for quite a few munros now and I absolutely love this bag. I’ll be buying a smaller version for smaller hills ❤️

Yet to use this properly but the size is good for day hikes in Scotland where you need a full set of waterproofs, hat, gloves, midge repellent, sun hat, sunglasses, and so on to cope with all the elements. Love the hip pockets for snacks and lipsalve!

Light, multiple pockets and organised spaces. Great flexibility with fitting. Teamed with the 3l hydraulic pak, it fits my needs perfectly. Wish it had an attached, ultralight raincover, but that can be purchased separately.

I bought this for my daughter. She had asked for this particular back pack. She is delighted with it - perfect size for day walks with easy access side pockets, deep pocket for water bottle and very comfortable
