Climbing, Via Ferrata, hiking; this pack is lightweight, carries weight close to the body, has amazing chest & waist-belt pockets and lots of useful features. My only slight niggles would be the waist pocket zippers can be hard to reach when fully open, and the top strap hook does not secure well unless the rucksack is fairly full. Very minor points that do not stop this from being my absolutely favourite rucksack.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've trialled this bag for a few weeks now on my way to and from work and for the odd walk/run. I love that I can fit nearly anything I require in the bag from lunch to camping equipment. It has several useful features like the ability to put a bottle pouch in one of the pockets. The straps are great for stability and they provide extra comfort when wearing the bag for long periods. My only issue was the strap that goes around your waist doesn't have the same comfortable padding like the ones for your shoulders and chest. Over all it's a very versatile and comfortable bag that I'm very pleased to own.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pack is up there with the best I've used. It's like a Frankensteins monster of a trail running pack and a walking pack. It is very light weight and extremely customisable. I've used it extensively over the time I've had it. Using it for both hiking up a mountain, exploring a cave taking it to a zoo with my toddler and shopping. Which goes to show just how versatile it is. I had it fully loaded up with soft flasks and a 2l water bladder for a big hike and it handled the weight really well. Dispersing it out nicely making it very comfortable. My only negative being the lose straps on the front
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I think this is a very good backpack, with the amount of space that it has and how comfortable it is. The backpack features a variety of pockets and zips that make carrying stuff a lot easier, especially whilst going for hikes and long walks. The amount it holds is great as it doesn’t feel too heavy. The straps and fittings provided make it better for carrying items then other backpacks and it’s adjustable which makes it a good fit. The quality of the material used was also exceptional and I did use it in the rain once and the items inside the backpack were kept dry. Overall this is a very good backpack and I’d recommend it to everyone, not just people who enjoy hiking/walking.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been blown away by this new backpack! The versatility and lightweight material makes this backpack a real competitor in the market for those that like getting outdoors and exploring whilst having a reliable backpack to store your essential items. The different compartment and zip sections are sturdy and allow for ease of access and separation. The only set back to me is the colour as it would not have been my first choice as it is very light and bold choice. It is a little expensive and would not be something I would buy again unless it broke or needed replacing.
I just spent three days on various day hikes (2 to 4 hours each and up to two hikes per day) using my new Talon Velocity 30L pack and below are my thoughts. * Design - Very nice hybrid of a Talon and running vest. The big difference aside from the straps/chest harness are the very large mesh pockets (front and both sides), cinch top, and the very pronounced lumbar "hump" * Weight - coming from an old Atmos 35, it's like nothing. Compared to other running packs it's a pig. Compared to a regular 30L daypack, it feels light. * Positives of the running vest harness chest straps - nice distribution of the weight that really feels like the bag is hugging your body. Holds my Pixel 4a w/slim case in the zippered pocket up front perfectly. Also holds a couple of bars, Kleenex, lip stuff, and trash. Works great with soft running vest bottles. I would not bother carrying stiff water bottles in the front. * Downsides of the hybrid style - limited in weight carrying. Figure 25 pounds max. I had maybe 15-18 pounds and the weight disappeared. Pushing to 25 would be a lot for this pack, but when testing it at 20 pounds I found it comfortable. Haven't hiked with that much weight yet...AND no place for my beloved Peak Designs Capture 3 Clip. Still working on it... * Fit - It's got a lot of adjustability. I found it best to shoot for the big lumbar bump to sit in the small of my back/beginning of my butt-hump. Once cinched, the hip belt was in the perfect place. Weirdly, I had the L/XL pack adjusted to the SECOND TO LONGEST mark to make it comfortable. The Osprey support person basically said get over it and wear what's comfortable. Set this way on my 20" measured back (using the Osprey backpack sizer at REI), it fit PERFECTLY. * About me - 6'0; 205 pounds; athletic build in a "I used to be a good athlete" sort of way; 44L suit size in a modern cut. SUMMARY - Great pack if your use case fits. My brief was for a light(er) weight day pack, 25-30L of space, carries 25-ish pounds and it HAD to have a running vest style harness. Yeah, I've been wondering when Osprey or Gregory would get to it... HIGHLY recommended, but don't stuff it with a lot of weight!
Extremely well thought out pack with fastpack focused features such as the running vest inspired shoulder straps designed for soft flasks and the iconic shove-it front pocket. Great back padding with support and ventilation if you're not focused on pack weight. There is plenty room for a helmet in the top strap area, though this can be pretty loose if the pack is not filled. 30L was a bit under what I wanted in size when I was browsing the other talon packs, but it kept me from overpacking luxury items and really dial in my setup.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Osprey Talo Velocity 30 in Matcha Green/Lemongrass is a visually striking backpack that blends style with functionality. The vibrant colours are eye-catching without being overly flashy, making it suitable for both outdoor adventures and urban commutes. The clean lines and sleek design contribute to a modern, sporty look that is characteristic of Osprey's product line. The L/XL size is perfect for taller individuals, offering a snug and secure fit. The adjustable harness and hip belt ensure that the weight is evenly distributed, reducing strain on your back and shoulders during long hikes. The mesh back panel promotes airflow, keeping you cool and comfortable even in warm weather. The ergonomic design is well-suited for extended use, providing excellent support and comfort.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really nice walking or hiking backpack, it’s a good size for taking on day hikes or for longer walks. It’s easy to pack and has a compartment to put a hydration bladder. It is a lightweight bag, lighter than my old osprey and it is very comfortable to wear, I think for me the one thing I am not a fan of is the way it closes, I much prefer to have a “lid” on my pads for 2 reasons, 1 it feels more securely closed, 2, I like having the additional easy to access pockets in the lid closure for things like first aid essentials, pocket tools etc. Other than the way it fastens, there really isn’t much to complain about with his rucksack. Osprey always produce high quality, well made items and this is no different. The material feels great and I imagine this will last me a long time just as my previous osprey had.
Almost perfect. Pos: Finally a running vest harness system hooray, better late than never. However the same on both sides would have been great. Side pockets fantastic and huge same on the front. Hip belt pocket aswell are great. The ability to strap at the bottom of the pack gives great options. Now onto the negatives and the biggest one for me that lid is hideous and not really practical imo, it will let water in with cross wind a roll top would have been better and better still a conventional brain like other brand fast pack's which would have given a couple of extra pockets. Instead you've put this stretch lid on to house a helmet. The back plate is not comfortable for me, you can feel it dig in with 6 kilos. Could have done better, it was returned because of this. 3 stars lost for the lid, back plate and no raincover.
