You must swap the waist clips with sturdier ones! I nearly wanted to return the bag after seeing how cheap the waist clips are. Thankfully they are removable so I made a quick swap and now this bag is legit². Will update this once I return from my month of traveling with it.
Im sure that this pack has many competitors that are better for it’s full price, but if you can grab it for under $100, I’d say for the price it is well built and has a number of features that set it apart from others in its price range, long story short, if it’s on sale, get it, if not, I’d probably pass.
Tore the first time I used it, where the zipper was sewn on at the top. I stuffed it full, but that should not happen. Poorly designed and constructed, in my opinion. Returned it and got a better REI Coop model for a few dollars more.
Shoulder strap ripped off after first trip, pack would be ok if you pack all ultralight gear.
