If you're looking for performance, this headlamp packs a punch! It's versatile attachments makes it very useful to use for daily walks (especially when it's becoming dark so early!) or working in dimly lit spaces.
This is a great headlamp as a work horse. It is fairly heavy, and I would not utilize it on a backpacking trip or significant alpine climb due to the weight. However, the adaptable lighting feature is a great feature while working at the ranch. The focus of the light changes based off of detected objects in front of the lamp. Beam is super bright and easy to focus. One of the best lamps I've used in regards to clarity and focus of the beam, however it won't be traveling with me on deep hikes and climbs.
This headlamp has all the bells and whistles you could think of. From nightlight features to Bluetooth and an app. My favorite is the ability to make the light shine as narrow or wide as you want. For everyday use, this headlamp is a bit much but I would consider packing this for a climb (even though it’s heavier than most I use) because of its durability, brightness and comfort on the head.
I can say that this is the brightest headlamp I've ever used! It does exactly what you'd expect. If it's pitch black out, which it has been for me on the long cold winter nights in Maine, then this headlamp will do the trick. I've had it out on long woodland walks, snow shoe-ing, sunset strolls, and for general use (digging out from the snow). It also comes with a bar mount, and works really well as a bicycle light. Overall build and quality is high. It's metal on most of the body and could take some abuse. The adaptive light beam is awesome and works exactly as it suggests. I can easily look at close up objects, and then faraway again, without doing a thing. Think maps or your cell phone. The additional functions all work well, but I don't find myself needing them. The adaptive does it for me. The red light is what you'd expect and does it well. The blue and green lights I imagine would come in handy for someone hunting. A nice feature is the buzz the light makes when it switches on and off. I know exactly what's going on up there. I will however say there are few things I wish were different, or that should be taken in to account when purchasing. The App is a little pointless. Its design is clunky, and the features it offers don't seem necessary. It's a great headlamp without the app. The magnetic charging cable is very easy to unplug and can happen by mistake, which it did for me, leading to a dead battery. I would prefer a usb plug. The magnets seem unnecessary. The unit gets rather hot after long use. Take care when grabbing it off your head with bare hands. It's large and a bit heavy. Not sure I'd take this on a multi-day trek when I'm counting grams. It's much larger than my other headlamp. This extra weight can push into your forehead, and if wearing a beanie, leave you with a mark and a slight headache. I do like that it came with a rubber pad that helps a little. and I would always use the overhead strap. Overall if you're looking for a powerful, all in one headlamp, this is a great choice. It will be my go to for a while.
Ledlenser has truly raised the bar with its HF8R Signature headlamp, a German-engineered masterpiece that outshines the competition (yep, I said it) in both power and features. This larger-than-average headlamp, proudly dubbed an "innovative hands-free headlamp," incorporates Ledlenser's groundbreaking Adaptive Light Beam technology. Picture this: the headlamp automatically adjusts its light output and focus based on your pointing direction, delivering a dynamic lighting experience that truly stands out. Sure, it feels a bit bulkier than your average headlamp, but trust me, it's a small trade-off for the wonders of cutting-edge technology. Navigating the HF8R involves a slight learning curve, thanks to its single-button design, but once you've mastered it, operating the lamp becomes a breeze. And if you thought that was cool, wait until you get your hands on the Bluetooth-enabled Ledlenser Connect app. This app transforms your smartphone into a control hub, adding an extra layer of convenience to an already impressive device. The HF8R doesn't just stop at innovation; it packs a punch with 20 to 2,000 lumens, a distance range spanning 82 ft to a whopping 721.8 ft, and an extended battery life ranging from 3.5 to 90 hours. Despite its weightier build at 6.8 oz, this headlamp ensures a comfortable fit, complete with additional straps for stability. While it might not be your go-to for nighttime running, it's a game-changer for various outdoor activities, from navigating dark neighborhoods to winter fatbiking in the Alaskan wilderness. But the magic doesn't end there – colored lights (red for night vision, green for hunting stealth, and blue for tracking blood trails) add versatility, and safety features like S.O.S. mode and a strobe effect enhance its functionality. Just be mindful of the proprietary Ledlenser magnetic charging standard – losing that special cable could leave you in a tight spot. In conclusion, the Ledlenser HF8R Signature headlamp is a technological marvel that not only addresses usability concerns but also spoils outdoor enthusiasts with an impressive array of features. It's more than a headlamp; it's a beacon of innovation lighting your way through the dark.
This headlamp has been an amazing addition to my business. I use it for all my home repair and commercial sign installation jobs when needed. I love all the settings for different applications. It also has a clam holder when needed as a stationary light. I've used it at night and has amazing light. It also has features like Bluetooth, an app, safety feature, different lighting settings for all applications. I also light the blue, red, and green light for none evasive lighting. I would highly recommend this to the outdoor activities enthusiasts. Camping, Running, working and hands free situations.
Doesn’t come with a usb c adapter, never heard of one.waited for headlamp now I have to wait for an adapter.Come on spending this kinda money and it comes incomplete. The lamp couldn’t tell you came completely dead
I was so surprised on how great this light is, clear and bright. Stronger of a light than my bike lights, can't wait to use this more, highly recommend, worth the price.
Very comfortable to wear and fantastic visibility. It did not get too hot on my head. Looking forward to using it on future hikes.
