Coast  LP30R Headlamp

Been using this light for a month. It is really easy to use right away. It's easy to place on your head or hat and forget it's there. Easy to adjust to the right size and it stays in place. I love the different colors of lights it gives off. The usb-c charging makes everything easy. It has plenty of battery life. It gives off a lot of light and makes it easy to see.

Received this in the mail last week. I have used it multiple times and I am very pleased with this lightweight small headlamp. Every white light mode is easy to navigate and are extremely bright. Double clicking the power button brings you into red/green mode. Which is decently bright. I would say is bright enough for navigating in the dark are in the woods, but is bright enough for you to see what you are doing. As for the weight, it is very comfortable wear on your head. Almost forget your wearing it. I really appreciate the non clicking as you adjust the headlamp up or down The only issue I have found with this headlamp is the way the battery compartment is configured. One, the compartment is not watertight as there is not seal. Looking at it, the compartment has a slick crack all around it and I feel the compartment and the rechargeable battery will take on moisture and or water if used while it's raining. I believe this is a relatively easy fix. Overall this is an amazing light weight headlamp that I could recommend to my hunting buddies or anyone looking for a light weight headlamp with great white light alumination.

As a retired military veteran, I have certainly seen my share of aid lighting. Also my hobbies of SCUBA, sport climbing, mountaineering, and extreme camping have afforded me many opportunities to experience the nuances of good dependable and reliable lighting. As a SAR volunteer it is critical for long search hours. This compact and powerful headlamp is excellent for all activities and I recently put it to the test on early boat launches. I thoroughly enjoyed the headlamp option. This boat was already equipped with the QB2R lamp which is voice controlled and mounted at the bow. It is a great feature for lighting the deck especially hauling in catches. I found myself needing more directed light to my POV for grabbing lures, rods and hook removers! This lamp performed beautifully at this for hours and is now a permanent part of my fishing trips. It is very light and even with a light tension on the headband does not slip at all. I definitely tried to make it do so. Full disclosure. I'm a heavy perspiration guy and it is hot and humid in Texas all summer (May-October) but the silicon lining sticks this lamp to your hair and skin just enough to grip without suffocating. The strips are thin. The elastic pretty thin band also. It doesn't need much to keep in place. The beams are well designed and afford the perfect focusing options for all tasks. I especially liked the options of green and red night vision saving. Usually you get one or the other. The control push button is a bit cumbersome at the start but I think I am learning to use it better. It does feel very solid and should last the lifetime of the lamp. The only inconvenience I've experienced is the reset to modes after you turn off. It doesn't have a memory for last mode used. That would be a great feature and make it a really effortless unit for repeated uses! It's not a deal breaker however and I'm learning how to quickly get through the modes with use! If you need a headlamp that is light, dependable and hassle-free that will last your offspring lives consider this lamp and be done with your search.

Disclaimer: Coast sent me this headlamp to test, but the review and views expressed are all my own. I've had this headlamp for a few weeks now and have taken it on trail rides, hikes, caves, and stargazing, and used it when the power went out during a storm and when swapping my spark plugs. It's a great all-purpose headlamp that’s very lightweight, with a super comfortable headband (the silicone strip really makes it). The flood and spot modes both give great coverage or throw depending on what you need, and the red and green lights are perfect for preserving your night vision while stargazing. Turbo is bright, but the 30-second auto step-down takes some getting used to. I’m sure that helps save battery life and guessing it helps with heat management too in a package that’s this small and light so it’s a tradeoff I’m ok with. The IP54 rating (spray resistance, not submersion) is adequate for most outings I go on. As for runtime: the bright flood mode is rated for 2 hours, and in my own drain test it went over 3 hours before I really noticed the dimming. I was able to see well enough with it at about 4 hours to make it down and up a flight of stairs in the dark, but it was very dim. I love that it runs on the rechargeable or swaps to a plain AA if you're caught out. One thing you'll either love or hate: the battery compartment has two "stages" of closed, and it takes the second click to fully latch. The first time it worried me, but after repeated use the double click became the audible assurance it's good to go; like listening for the locks when you walk away from your car. This isn't the lightest, brightest, or sturdiest headlamp out there, but it's light enough, bright enough, and one of the best jack-of-all-trades headlamps I've used. I'd recommend it for just about any activity that's not on the water, especially for people on the go who want a little bit of everything in a small, lightweight package. I used this LP30 light doing electrical work underneath cabinets. This light is very lite and comfortable on the head. The brightness modes work great for me. The light is very effective in tight places like underneath cabinets, and I loved being able to tilt the light where I needed it. I also love that the battery is rechargeable, that it has both a red and green light, that it fits comfortably in my pant pocket when not in use, along with other great features. I highly recommend this head lamp.

This is the perfect jacket-pocket light. It doesn't take up much space, but puts out a respectable beam, surprisingly bright for its' size. It runs on a AA battery, which you can find anywhere. It comes with a rechargeable battery, so you don't *have* to use throwaways. The beam housing swivels, so you can set it up for the path ahead, or down right at your hands for close work. Gearing up for an expedition I might look for something heavier, but for occasional use like walking the dog or taking the trash out, this little light is fantastic!

As soon as i opened the box i had my husband and sons attention. This headlamp is awesome. Light weight non slip headband makes it easy to wear. All the light modes are super easy to navigate. The red and green are great for checking the animals on our farm at night. Its water resistant so a little rain never stopped me. I absolutely love the rechargable/interchangable battery option, although my battery lasted well past the full night without dieing on me. This light is by far the best one i have used and i have tried many. Now it seems i need to order 1 for each of the guys to have their own. Thank you coast crew for such a great product. Aziemian

What a great little headlamp. Size does matter with headlamps in this one is compact, light weight and brighter than expected. Great for around the campsite with the multiple options of beam types. Almost too many options because it's a lot of button pushing to get through them all. Would rather have a switch for that. Will definitely keep one in my camping gear and fishing pack. I also use it now when walking the dog at night. It has a nice wide non blinding mode, but can change it to light up the field if needed. I used to use the Slayer for that (which I love!), but it's nice having two hands. The headband is low profile and secure. Highly recommended, especially at that price.

I have never used one of these headlight devices before. However I had the oppertunity to get one of these units and was very pleased with the results. I really liked the charge port on the battery. I have had several chargeable LED flashlights and it is not uncommon for the charge port to break.

loved the red and green light option and all the different brightness settings.
