Not sure if our product is defective or if the entire line sucks, but we've had it for 24 hours and it won't turn off. I can get it to lock/unlock, but it won't leave the strobe function or turn off, so I'm waiting to see if the two hour timer works. Hopefully if it turns off on its own, it will work normally again? Either way, I'll be exchanging this soon and then maybe returning the second one, depending on that experience.
It took forever to unlock and turn on initially. Then, after a couple brief (indoor) uses the strobe function turned on and would not shut off. I had to disassemble to remove the battery in order for the light to shut off. Will be returning.
I bought 3 of the previous version for my kids because the concept of the diffuser over the light was brilliant. Our kids (and us) loved these but I got so sick of constantly swapping out batteries. On top of that, the battery interface was super touchy and only seemed to work with certain brands of batteries. With how my kids love to leave their lights on they ate up batteries and I spent a small fortune on replacing them. On top of that the headband material was crap and fell apart on all of them. This new model seems to resolve all those issues with a sturdier look and feel to the headband, USB-C charging, and the lockout mode is super nice to keep my youngest from constantly fiddling with the buttons. Another favorite feature is the auto-shut off. Also, the pivoting in both directions is a stroke of genius. The old ones they were constantly wearing upside down. BD seemed to do their research with this new model and nailed it. It's like someone with kids actually used the product and ironed out all the points of friction. There is no comparable product on the market if you're looking for a headlamp for the young ones. Must have for active families with littles.
