On the previous model of the Petzl core headlamps, the side of the headlamp were open, making it very easy to change the angle of the beam. On this new version, the sides are not open, so the way you adjust the angle of the beam is by grabbing the top of the headlamp. It just so happens that the top of the headlamp is where the power switch is. It's very easy (too easy) to turn the headlight off as you're trying to adjust the angle of the beam. Gets even worse if you have gloves on. Didn't Petzl test the product before release? Silly design change. I still appreciate that you can use either the core battery or AAA batteries which is why this is a better choice than the BD rechargeable. And, the addition of a lock out feature is welcome.
