I liked my old discontinued Storm better

Love that this unit offers memory. Whatever mode and brightness it was when you turned it off, it will turn back on at same level. Love that it is AAA battery operated. Misplaced my previous version storm, so figured I’d give this one a go. It seemed to have good reviews and I love love loved my old headlamp. I would say I spend 95% of the time in red light mode because I am using it at night, no blue light, no eye adjustments yaddy yadda. This is nearly the same. Buttons a slightly smaller and that is okay. Old one only did white and red, this one does white and rgb. Okay now the not so good. The freaking battery display is on the bottom directly above your eyes. If you were just staring at the white light, probably not that big of a deal. Buttt when you are using it for night time, dim red light, and then you turn it off and all of the sudden you have brightass blue lights right above your eyeballs it defeats the whole purpose. I am going to still give it four stars because it is close. It runs on AAA batteries which is the way I use it. I was intrigued by the dual fuel rechargeable. Do not be fooled, this is not USB rechargeable like the 500r or other models. This is “you have to buy a separate battery pack, charge it, and now you have ‘rechargeable’ headlamp. I am sure that was nifty back when it came out, but in the modern rechargeable days it feels wonky. Treat this as a (3) AAA battery headlamp. If you want rechargeable get a different version.
