Good source of energy

I really liked the calories packed into this small package and knew it would power me through a morning of fishing near camp. The consistency is closer to soaked rolled oats than it is oatmeal. I recommend an extra minute or two to get the perfect consistency. The cinnamon taste goes really well with a cup of joe. The only drawback to me is the carrots. The chunks are larger than I was expecting and therefore the taste of the carrot does not blend in well to what is otherwise a sweet oatmeal.

Delicious and filled me up

Took this for breakfast on a climbing trip to the Gunks in NY state. It was easy to prepare, just boil 6oz of water and pour it in the packet. No messing around heating meals in a pan and trying to clean them after. The packet had an easy fill line, which made this super easy; and the oatmeal was ready in 5 mins. Definitely tasted delicious and I loved the carrots in the oatmeal, this combination works very well. It seemed to be about the right amount of food to leave me feeling full without bloating, and I did not feel hungry for hours after. Definitely recommend.

Great trail food

I’m in my mid thirties and have been backpacking regularly for decades - so my food preferences are pretty dialed in. I love oatmeal at home but instant oatmeal is never the right calories or macros for me on trail. I received this through the REI product ambassador program and between the calories/protein (480 and 13g) and flavor I will absolutely be buying it to change up my typical granola or pb & bread bfast. I was a little put off at first by the thought of carrots but they work nicely and have just the right bit of sweetness along with some of the pineapple bits in the oats. The ginger was also just the right amount to cut the sweetness but not be overpowering. I have a lot going on right now so didn’t have an opportunity to try this on trail (just at home) - but it was honestly a pretty darn good breakfast at home, too!

Delicious and easy!

This Morning Glory Oatmeal from Heather’s Choice is delicious! It tasted amazing, the oats cooked perfectly following the packaging directions, and it’s very easy to make. You just add boiling water straight to the bag, but I wish there was a fill line on the inside of the bag. It calls for 6 ounces of boiling water, or 3/4 cup, but if you don’t have a way to measure just cover completely with water and then some. Only other thing I noticed was package says to let sit for 5 min, I had to let sit for about 10 minutes to get to a consistency I preferred. The packaging was sturdy, great for preparing on the trail or at camp! And you can’t beat these ingredients, very tasty and definitely recommend!

Lightweight, tasty and filling

I enjoyed this oatmeal for breakfast prior to a multi-hour trail run and found that it was a fast, easy meal that provided lasting energy during my run. It reconstituted quickly in its own bag with boiling water and was surprisingly filling despite the small package. The oatmeal was also easy on my stomach, and in my opinion, tasted much better than most dried or 'instant' foods. I thought the flavor combination was very good, although I will caution potential buyers that this oatmeal does have a strong ginger kick, so that may be a dealbreaker if ginger is not your thing.

Great taste with plenty of slow-burn energy

I really enjoyed this oatmeal. I had it on a recent backpacking trip. It was easy to make and didn't take too long. The flavours all worked together really well and it provided me with some good energy for that morning's hike back out to the car. I'll remember this one for next time.

I Think This Is Great!

The ingredients are what excited me the most about this oatmeal. It's organic, all natural, the oats are gluten free. It also tastes really good. I followed the directions and let it sit for 5 minutes after adding the water. The pineapples and carrots were still a little crunchy, which is fine if you like it that way. I let it sit for another 5 minutes and it was perfect.

Could not finish

This had so many flavors going on it was very overpowering. I appreciate that it wasn’t bland like most breakfast oatmeal but I couldn’t stomach this whole thing. This is all I tasted all day and I had to pack out half of it. I tried another flavor in this same brand and was glad I didn’t buy any more. Not a good way to start the day.

Great on the go breakfast

I recently tried the Morning Glory oatmeal, and I have to say that I think it will be becoming a regular part of my backcountry and travel trips. Like most prepackaged hiking foods, it only needs hot water to be prepared. The blend of carrots, raisins and pineapple really livened up the meal, and the portion size was just right for fueling a few hours of adventure.
