Super tasty for any meal
I was leery of getting these because I have heard a lot of bad things about freeze dried eggs. Boy am I glad I did, these were so good I wanted to make another after finishing the first bag.

Recipe changed for the bad
I've been eating Mt House freeze dried food for over 20 years. It has been my go to. Recently they have been changing their recipes to make them more "healthy". Unfortunately the taste and ability to rehydrate have gone downhill. Sad.

Simple, Hearty and Tasty.

These are quick and easy to make in rugged conditions. I wrap the pouch in my knit cap to keep the water hot. They’re reasonably tasty; dehydrated eggs are never as good as fresh. If you want a hearty egg meal without raw eggs and a pan, these are a good choice.

Convenient and flavorful

This is the first dehydrated meal I've ever had. Just tried it this weekend while camping and was very pleasantly surprised. I guess I was expecting either really slimy tasteless eggs or something with a chalky/powdery texture. I followed the instructions on the bag and was ready to have a bland breakfast, but then my first sporkful had some crispy bacon bits and actual flavor. This has better taste and texture than the continental breakfasts offered at most hotels nowadays. Sure, you can tell it's not freshly cooked, but if you had access to a freshly cooked meal or the ease to make it, you wouldn't be packing dehydrated meals. So I highly recommend these for the convenience of packing light when the adventures you're planning don't include access to a fully stocked kitchen.

Not as good as previous version...

My evaluation is based on a comparison of the new version (white bag) versus the previous version (blue bag). First, the egg pieces are bigger in the new version. You might think this is a good thing but it isn’t. Here’s why. The water doesn’t fully saturate the eggs making them spongy and chewy. I even let my eggs sit in the boiling water for double the recommended amount of time. The previous version had the perfect size egg pieces thus allowing them to appropriately saturate. Second, the bacon is different and there’s less of it. The new version bacon does not have the same flavor as the previous version. I would argue there is about 50% less bacon as well. The prior version was so tasty that I wouldn’t even drain the excess water because that was fantastic too! Overall, the new eggs and bacon recipe is bland when compared to the prior version. It’s disappointing and makes breakfast less exciting.

Eggs are weird

Freeze dried eggs are always going to be weird. But it was easy enough to make

Good taste, terrible texture.

I purchased a lot of MH meals for emergency storage, including quite a few of the Scrambled Eggs with bacon. Unfortunately these are not as good as the other MH meals I’ve had. Following the directions results in excess water and partially hydrated egg chunks. Longer steeping doesn’t help, nor does using more water, less water, or extra stirring. The larger chunks are sort of like croutons in the centers. There is something wrong with the quality testing on this item, because it does not come up to the usual MH standards. My next experiment will be to simply smash the large chunks before hydrating.

Horrible taste and texture.

I’ve had my fair share of freeze dried meals and so far this has been the worst. The texture is clumpy and like tofu. The taste has only hints of egg and is closer to eating styrofoam. I would only recommend giving this to your enemies.

bad texture and flavor

Before reading these reviews, I didn't know what I did wrong- the eggs wouldn't reconstitute. But apparently this meal is just not good. As others mention, the texture is bad, and I wound up drinking leftover egg water. I had 3 of these meals in my pack, but after the 1st one, I opted to eat my emergency meals rather than force the other 2 down. I designated them as my 'new emergency meals, thank goodness I didn't need them. Next time it's granola or oatmeal!

Eggs (and biscuits and gravy)

If you explicitly follow the instructions, the eggs seem to turn out a little..soupy. But, if you add a smidge less water and mix real good, these things are phenomenal. But to make these a real winner, you need to add them to their biscuits and gravy. That's the most solid dehydrated breakfast meal on the market. So don't skimp on breakfast with just eating these eggs, add them to the biscuits and gravy and you'll be eating like a king (or queen) on the trail.

A let down

After the Breakfast Skillet pak yesterday I have to say this was a major disappointment. It reminded me of a failed science experiment.....yes, they kind of looked like eggs, even tasted a bit like them but the texture was simply gross. As we live we learn!
