Great Sun Hoodie!
Super comfortable sun hoodie - it's really lightweight and provided me with sun protection during a 16 mile trek through Lassen Volcanic Park. The weather was in the upper 80s and we were in the sun for the majority of our backpacking trip. I wore this for two days in a row and it didn't smell bad at all (I did). I was impressed with how quickly this hoodie dried, too. My one tiny tiny compliant - the sleeves have a small strap to wrap around your thumb to keep it in place. It's a tighter fitting hoodie, so this is pointless as it doesn't provide any additional sun protection for your hands, unlike many other hoodies/jackets with a more traditional thumb hole. But still, very comfortable hoodie and I would recommend. I plan on wearing this nearly every day for the JMT next year.
Amazing fabric combo works well
This new-to-me brand surprised me with how well it works under various weather conditions. I was never a big fan of hoodies, but this one makes the argument for built-in sun and breeze protection for the head. The thin inner layer of polyester adds a touch of smoothness to the merino-wool exterior, which means this single layer works almost like two layers for the weight and bulk one. I've tried this hoodie out in blazing-sun biking and cool-midnight rambling, and it handles a fairly broad range of temps. I'm thinking this garment will serve me as a combo base layer and top layer in sunny conditions (the limestone version is almost white), eliminating the need to stay lathered up with sunblock cream--otherwise a serious need for my fair skin. So far, price aside, I can't think of anything negative to say about this hoodie. Try one for yourself; you're bound to like it.
Very nice but pricey
I have bought two of these. These are really great from a performance standpoint - but they fall short in endurance. In just several months of light wear, and I baby them, they both have developed holes and random wear areas where the threads are thinning away. I expected a more durable product.
Awesome
Worth every penny. Lightweight, warm, looks good. Sleep in it on a winter camping trip with the hood up instead a fleece beanie and it worked perfectly. A go to shirt for any outdoor event.
Restored my faith in merino
Honestly merino wool may be great but I've never found it very comfortable. I feel like people pad their reviews based on how much money they spent on it. This hoodie does not have a scratchy feeling that my other Patagonia merino wool hoodie has. I love it! Only con is the price but I can wear this year round. I am 5'8 145 lbs and the small fits great
Awesome for backpacking!
This is now my go to base layer. It's easily worth the price.
