Rated 2 out of 5 by from not what I expected I wore this for 4 days before I returned it. I'm giving it two starts because it was quite comfortable. Other than that, I didn't see the benefit of wearing this. First and foremost, I couldn't see the screen outdoors. I went for a few walks and two runs and was unable to see it at all, even in the shade. I also didn't like how to navigate through each screen and found it burdensome. I wore the watch properly during working out, and a 10 lap speed skating session registered an 89 HR. I took it back for the Charge 2 and fell in love with it. If you are an active athlete and want something more than a tracker, I don't recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is a good tracker I got an Apple Watch and after a few months I really missed the Fitbit community. So, I wanted something small and that I could wear on my other wrist (as I did not want to get rid of my Apple Watch. This is pretty good. I like it and wear it mainly for 3 reasons, the 24/7 HR tracking, the great sleep tracking, and the challenges with friends. What would be perfect for me would be if Fitbit would make a flex 2 with HR. that would be perfect!! I can hope. This Fitbit Alta HR is a good every day tracker the HR is pretty accurate, the sleep tracking is spot on. So, if you want a smaller, cute tracker you can not go wrong with the Fitbit Alta HR.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slim design, but barely responsive screen I bought the Alta Heart Rate monitor because I wanted a small monitor that I could use to track my sleep and heart rate. It is nice and small, but it is difficult to cycle through the screens because you have to tap the screen and it is not very responsive. Usually I had to tap multiple times to get any response. I tried tapping different parts of the screen and with different amounts of force and still had difficulties. I am going to return the monitor because it is so difficult to use. One other thing that I didn't like is that there is no way to turn the Bluetooth off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Product, but the HR tech is not there yet I bought this for three reasons (in descending priority): (1) Silent alarm (2) Sleep tracking (3) Continuous HR tracking. (4) Step/activity tracker The new sleep tracking technology is great. Great activity tracker. Great iOS app. The HR monitoring is very lacking. It seem to track HR when you are sitting or standing OK. During a workout, My heart rate will be between 130 and 150 (as registered on my very accurate Garmin), the Alta will say 95. Way off. I have never seen over 115 on the Alta. This really makes me question it's overall accuracy. For HR tracking during an aerobic workout, it's worthless to me. I would not purchase this product if continuous HR tracking is your main goal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the heart rate feature Sleep tracking is so much more detailed (compared to my old flex) because of the heart rate feature. You can see when and for how long you were in each stage of sleep. You can also track your resting heart rate over time. And the Alta will nag you to get moving if you're still for too long!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Inaccurate - Item Returned Fitbit Alta HR is worthless! Wore it for 3 days and returned it. Yes, it looks good and sounds good on paper, but it was very inaccurate and that made it worthless to me. It would add 2500-3000 steps each day while I did nothing more than sit at my desk, and 150-300 steps each night while I slept. I found many people in online forums reporting the same inaccuracy issue. Very disappointed. (If there is a product that does accurately track distance/steps, please let me know!)

The specs here list a pressure-based altimeter but the Fitbit website doesn't seem to mention it. Does the Alta HR record how many flights of stairs are climbed?

Asked by: mandatoryScreenName
No, this watch does not have an altimeter for counting steps. Thank you for bringing this information to our attention. We will update the product listing on as soon as possible.

Does the Fitbit Alta HR come in a size Medium? I am a woman who would normally order a medium. If it doesn't come in a medium, would you recommend the Small or Large? Thank you, Mimi Lodge

Asked by: Mimi Lodge
This fitness tracker is not available in a medium. We recommend comparing your wrist size to the sizing info to determine which size would be best. Sizing is listed in the details and is as follows: Small fits 5.5-6.7 in. wrists; large fits 6.7-8.1 in. wrists; XL fits 8.1-9.3 in. wrists
