Great healthy nutrition for adventure junkies
I've been a big fan of TMB since their beginning. I love the original flavors (personal fave is Butterscotch), healthy ingredients and energy boost they provide. I've relied on them for snacks/calories on the trail on numerous races and adventures - including the Aconcagua climb, TransRockies race and the Everest Trek. Beyond the taste and energy, I know this team takes their ingredients and sourcing very seriously, so I'm eating not just bars that taste good, but that do good. Highly recommended.
Not your average Bear Scatt bar...
Honestly, REI needs to carry the full line. My wife and I have had the pleasure of eating these bars for a few years now here in Santa Fe and all I can say is that if you're used to bars that taste remotely like food and look like bear scatt, these will blow your mind. Delicious, good nutrients, excellent size and they store extremely well.
Another permanent part of my trail lunch
For about 50 years I tried all kinds of lunch options. Most of them were too sugary, triggering headaches and not keeping me going over an hour or two. The exception I used for years was an mixture of Jack Links Pepperoni and Cheese, plus Bear Valley Pemmican Fruit Nut bar, the only Bear Valley bar I could force myself to swallow. But the "cheese" in Jack Links is questionable, and BVPemmican tastes so nasty, by the 3rd or 4th day I'd rather go hungry. Recently I discovered Taos bars, a less-sugary alternative to Cliff bars. Perfect for me.
Every flavor distinct and delicious!
Just had the almond agave so now I've officially tried all of their flavors and can say I'm officially a huge fan. I love how different the textures are depending on which bar you're eating. It's nice that they aren't just "flavored differently" while being basically the same bar, they really are each their own experience! What a treat to have in your backpack!
Perfect for refueling while cycling
I've been using these to refuel on road rides of 2 hours and longer, having the first one after 1 hour and so on. They fit perfectly in the back pockets of road jerseys. And the packaging is easy to open with your teeth while rolling along. I especially like the chocolate butterscotch flavor, but the top layer of chocolate can melt! So I have to be sure to put them into my pocket with that side facing away from my body, and probably won't use them for hot weather rides!
Taos Mountain Energy Bars
Taos Mounntain Energy Bars are the answer to my search for a moist chewy bar. Until I tried the TME bars, all the bars I tried were hard, dry ,and unsatisfying. I eat one in the morning to get my day started, and one before a work-out really helps a seventy-four year old lady have the energy to enjoy the experience.

You Have to Try These!!!
These energy bars are delicious! All organic ingredients, whole foods, and I actually love the taste; they're not something I have to choke down during a hike or during a ski break. I'll never go back to the cheap competitors again. My favorite is the Caramel Pecan! Awesome!!!

Best Bars ever hands down!
I am a personal trainer who is always looking for a quick healthy bar to eat and recommend to my Clients. After trying these bars I don't think I will ever buy anything else. They are the best bars I have ever tasted! My clients love them too! My personal favorite is the Coconut, but they are all good! I highly recommend you try these bars!
