Sweet & Savory
Nice balance between sweet & savory, excellent for a summit treat. Not enough for a meal, take a few or pair with another substantial item for a long hike. Tasted like pie in the warmed from the sun, definitely recommend for your trail bag. Kids will love this bar too, can't wait to try other flavors.
Great nutrition bars with organic ingredients!
Wow! I am a very picky eater, especially when it comes to nutritional bars. However, Kate’s bars are absolutely delicious! I have been enjoying them in the morning before my work out, or getting out for a hike. In addition to the taste, they offer a feel a boost of energy with each bar. As an added benefit, one of my morning medication‘s require that I eat 6 g of fat. Kate’s bars have exactly that is perfect. The high-quality approach to creating these nutritional bars! The only suggestion would be to find ways of adding more proteins, which I believe can be found in some of the other bars that Kate makes. Keep the good products coming!
Very flavorful energy bar
This is a great tasting energy bar that has very reasonable macros and looks and tastes like you'd think it would based on the name. You should note that the serving size is a 1/2 bar, so that's a bit misleading in my opinion, but the nutrition is still what you'd expect compared to other energy bars. I've used these prior to gym and climbing sessions and found they provided good energy without bogging me down and the good flavor makes them pleasant to eat. I recently tossed them in my pack for a trip to Mount Rainier NP and the whole family enjoyed them during snack breaks on hikes. At the moment, these are my preferred carb-leaning energy bars.
Tasty Trail Snack
This is a pretty tasty bar that has a decent calorie to weight ratio. I really like that they taste like something I could make at home and aren't super processed/fake tasting. They have a bit of a crispy crunch, which I really enjoy, and I like that I can see the oats and see and taste the cranberries. I did put one in the fridge to see how it did when cold (it's hard to find things like this that don't get hard as a rock in the cold), and it was pretty hard. However, because of it's small size, it softened up pretty quickly in my pocket. As someone who tends to eat many small meals while backpacking and hiking, these work great as a small, quick breakfast and as a pick me up snack. They fit great in my pack's hip pocket or jacket pocket, too, and they don't feel like a brick in my stomach after eating them. They are pretty sweet, though, but that would also make them a good post meal desert on the trail.
A good on-the-go snack!
Great to have on the trail! In particular, two things stood out: it was neither too crumbly (the entire bar didn't end up ON the trail instead of in my mouth) nor too sticky (I hike with my dogs, nothing worse than sticky fingers in fur / dealing with carry out rules). The flavor has a strong cinnamon note, but I enjoyed it.
Traveled very well, tasty and friends loved it.
Light meal or snack that is sweet enough to quench a craving. Travels very well, just drop a couple into a pack. I took this hiking, camping and traveled with it to Brazil. Shared with friends and they liked it, too.
A sweet treat anytime
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. These Kate bars make an excellent, clean snack. The texture was slightly chewy, slightly crunchy, and the Oatmeal Cranberry Almond ones I tried were sweet without being cloying. I ate them as snacks between meals as I was working on some home renovations, and took some on my hike to Pinwheel Vista to enjoy with a beautiful view, thanks to the sturdy packaging. They have a shelf life of 1 year (according to the expiration date on the back) so buying a box of 12 makes it easy to keep them on hand. I would definitely buy this flavor again but would also want to try the Lemon Coconut. Great product, Kate!
Hunger relief in a compact bar.
Great flavor, subtle bursts of cranberries and enough moisture content to alleviate the need to immediately drink water after each bite. Quite compact bar size at 62grams for 230 calories, my wife and I agree it's a great bar to heal hunger pains during outdoor activities, we each keep one bar in our backpacks now. My only gripe is the fact the Nutrition Facts is based on half a bar, who eats only half a bar?
Great bar to have around
Really good oatmeal bar! Perfect amount of flavor with each bar and they are moist. I wasn’t sure what to expect based on the number of choices in the market these days, but I was pleasantly surprised and I would definitely buy these again. I’ve tossed them in my backpack, car and ATV!
Great Texture
I am very picky when it comes to texture and dryness when eating bars. This was a great balance of texture and was very delicious. I will say this is sweeter than other treats but I loved the tartness to the cranberry. Will buy again!
