Rated 5 out of 5 by from New endurance nutrition solution! I've spent all summer trying to improve my cycling nutrition as I've switched over to high speed endurance events (e.g., 100 miles in less than 5 hours). Previously tried all sorts of products - Gu, Stinger, Clif, PowerBar, Cytomax, Vitalyte, etc. Some products made me feel bloated, others didn't seem to yield any benefit. Did a lot of online research, and decided for the last few rides to follow Hammer Nutrition's recommendations and use their products exclusively. Got a bunch of single serve packets, because their stuff is pricey and I didn't want to have an inventory of it on hand if it wasn't working. Just finished an 80 mile ride (3:45:08). Used HEED for the first 40, then switched over to Perpetuem (sp?) with HEED chasers. No bloat, good energy throughout the ride. Think I've found the winner! The taste of Perpetuem is hard to describe. I mixed a double bottle for use over the last couple of hours of the ride. No chalky taste or feeling, the powder mixed very well (and quickly). I had the orange version, and actually enjoyed the light taste. A bit like a very lightly sweetened orange milkshake? All around good stuff!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disgusting taste I bought a sample size of Perpetuem to try for longer endurance when I tend to get fatigued at the end. I'm glad I only bought the sample size, because the taste almost made me vomit, it tasted like I was drinking play-dough or chalk blended into water. I couldn't finish the bottle I mixed up, so I got little if any help with my muscle fatigue. I think I'll stick to a good mix of electrolytes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go all day I started using this during cycling races or heavy workout days. I used to totally run out of steam after about an hour and a half in the saddle and deal with blood sugar crashes that left me frantically eating for two days. Since I started using Perpetuem to take in calories while I ride I've actually lost weight due both to cranking harder for longer and not crashing after the ride and binging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good even energy, no stomach issues Only tried perpetuem a few times so far, but I like it. Nice even energy, no sugar rush like some other products. My stomach didn't have any issues, and that it the most important time. Hammer has some great info out there and I am going to try all Hammer for a while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stellar supplementation for long rides The best thing I can say about Perpetuem is that IT WORKS. It is literally a fuel that my muscles need for intense workouts, like hammering a multi-hour ride over rolling terrain. I usually pair this product with Hammer gels (also excellent, especially the raspberry), and between them, I can ride strongly for hours. When I fuel with these two products, I have noticeably less fatigue in my legs, and less lactic acid builds up. At the end of a 3- or 4-hour ride I am always finishing strongly, and feel like I could just keep on riding if it weren't for other stuff like responsibilities. I like the caffe latte flavor, because it tastes great with a hint of sweetness, and packs a little caffeine punch to boot (25 mg per serving). It is very easily digestible, and you can drink it during the heaviest exertion without repercussion. All in all, this is an excellent product and you owe it to yourself to try it and see what a difference it can make! I will be using the tabs this summer on extended hikes to see how they help in that endeavor, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Poor taste, but works well Have been using this for many years. I find the taste/consistency to be horrific, I can hardly gag it down before a long outing, but have to admit that it works exceptionally well. With they could make it taste as good as the Heed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Yuck! It was difficult to mix, and the flavor was awful. There are many other products to chose from that give the same results and are much easier to consume and taste better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works but meh on the taste Stuff is great for recovering after a day on the bike the taste is like chalky oranges. The strawberry is much better.
