Love 'em
Delicious and easy to drink, plus they work great. I use these for active hydration, but also sometimes when I'm just bored of regular water. They're tasty but not overly sweet (also no artificial sweeteners). Easy to carry around, so I take them on bike trips. I've found they are especially helpful if you'll need to get well water on a trip, since they can disguise any gross tastes. If you're using them in a water bottle, make sure you either put them in ahead of time or leave the lid/valve open for a bit as they do let off some gas when they dissolve and you don't want your bottle to spray everywhere!
Heads up
I really like these tablets, however I recently found out they do not do well in high heat environments. In a brand new unopened container left in my vehicle they puffed up due to the heat and expanded outside the container. The whole package was unusable after this. Just a heads up.
Saved the day
I brought these on a hard 13 mile, 8-hour hike in Banff, with close to 3,000' of elevation change. Near the end of the day, my group was really struggling with the heat and mileage. At our next rest stop, I pulled out my cherry-limeade Nuun tabs, and made everyone drink up. This, along with a little food, really perked everyone up - we felt sharper mentally, less tired, and more energetic. I repeated this experiment over a few more hikes, to similar effect. I'm convinced Nuun tabs help me feel better during and after difficult efforts on the trail. The cherry-limeade flavor is excellent, as well.
On-hand electrolytes in a convenient package.
Delicious and very much needed on long hikes with heavy exposure. We took these to task climbing up through the first couple legs of Mt. Wilson and there's no canopy so you're just exposed to the sun on warm days and that makes you sweat twice as hard so electrolyte replenishment was needed. A 16oz bottle of water that can be refilled from a larger canteen of just water is perfect so that you can have regular water as well as the electrolytes on hand separate. The flavors available are good, we had the mango citrus. Went through about 4 of these during our trip, thankfully the caffeine isn't enough to have you jittery but adds a little pep in your step. Highly recommend.
I Drink NUUN Daily
I like NUUN tablets & have used them for many years while hiking and mountain biking. They work better than any of the bottled brands of hydration beverages & have essentially no sugar plus are low-carb. Recently, with the pandemic, I noticed that I was not drinking as much water during the day while working from home. Working increasingly odd hours for no good reason, my coffee intake had ballooned and my water intake had decreased. So I decided to experiment and have been drinking NUUN Sport+Caffeine several times a day. I've cut my coffee intake way down while imbibing more NUUN. I feel better for having done so and I assume it is because I am more hydrated.
Great Product and Update
I have been a Nuun user for years, and I'm really happy with this update. The flavor is great (Mango Orange and Cherry Limeade are amazing) and I love that the caffeine comes from green tea! It's perfect for when I want a little boost that doesn't make me jittery.
Burning Man Tested, Nurse Approved
Took 3 of these containers with me to Burning Man this year. Each morning I'd mix 2 tabs in 32oz and drink that. Throughout the rest of the day I'd drink approx 3L of water, plus booze. I was there for 13 days and didn't have any issues with electrolyte imbalances nor dehydration. They take a bit to dissolve, and obviously take much longer in cold water, so I started mixing them with tepid water. The flavor is what was a 4:5; they tasted okay but the flavor was very light. Enough, however, to cover the taste of the salt, so there's that.
Not new and improved
I've been a faithful user of nuun for years but they've changed the ingredients in their "new and improved" version - I'm not a fan. They chose to add stevia for some reason and it has a very unpleasant aftertaste. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the original Energy, without stevia.
My favorite hydration
I've tried all the Nuun flavors and the Cherry Limeade is by far my favorite; I never get tired of it. It's so light and easy to drink that when it's really hot I never get tired of it unlike Gatorade. I use this on every ride and I do quite a few 100 mile rides and try to ride when it's hot in order to get used to the heat.
Great pick-me up!
I've used this a few times now at the start of early morning rides. Gets me going and keeps me going for at least 2 or 3 hours...
