The jacket did its job while ice climbing this season. It kept me warm while belaying at 25 degrees with snow. The jacket is water-resistant, which holds up well if you decided to ice climb with it on. The only issue is the down gathers in several spots where you bend your arms. I enjoyed having the zipper open from the top and bottom. Having the zipper opening at the bottom helps while wearing the harness if you need to belay. The jacket washes well, just following the instructions. Also, the hood fits well over the helmet. Fits true to size. I am 5'9" with long arms and a short torso. I ordered a Meduim for layering. Oh, the butt coverage rocks!!!!

Best Mid Layer!!

I wear this under my shell skiing and ice climbing and it has kept me super warm on even below-zero days in the northeast. Not to mention the color is fantastic! I get so many compliments on how vibrant it looks with the snow. Great quality and very warm! This item is great for anyone looking for a thicker puffy jacket under their shell, for both beginners and experts in the outdoors.

Wore this jacket on a ski and sailing trip to Norway. It was the perfect extra layer underneath a shell to keep in my pack. Folds up extra small. Perfect to keep as an extra layer during a tour and kept me insanely warm while sailing in sun zero temps. Great for all levels of skiiers.

Warm, stylish, multi-purpose

I was looking for a warm jacket that wasn't too bulky or big. We have long, snowy, cold winters, and this jacket is perfect for around town during fall and throughout winter and it's also a great layer for backcountry and resort skiing.

Fits great. I can wear it over a light layer if needed. Love the cut and color scheme. I ordered an extra small. I am usually a small so sizing down might be a good idea if you are on the cusp.

I absolutely love this jacket!

This jacket is perfect for whatever you are planning on doing. Because it is poly-fill, it stays warm even when wet. Great layer for spring ice climbing. Flattering fit also!

Extremely warm, very lightweight. I sized up so I could layer underneath but I don't think it was necessary, I'd say the jacket runs a little large.

Great lightweight warm jacket!

I LOVE this jacket. I used it for the first time on a spring trip to Banff, Canada. The jacket was perfect! The weather was all over the place while we were in Canada... from in the 30s and snowing to warm and in the high 60s. We did a lot of hiking, and the jacket kept me warm when I needed it, and cool when I didn't need as much warmth. Plus, the jacket is very lightweight, making for a great travel jacket. As far as sizing, I got the XS. I typically wear size small, but at the time of purchase they only had XS. I was worried it would be too small, but it fits great. Also, while most hoods on jackets always seem too big or small, the hood on the Mammut fits me perfectly. The only negative comment I have is that while the jacket can be stuffed into one of the zippered pockets, I never seemed to be able to stuff it all the way in there and zip it up. But, even with it partially stuffed, the jacket compressed nicely, fitting well in my backpack and leaving lots of space for other things. I'm going to be taking this jacket along when I go backpacking this summer. Will be nice for chilly evenings, and I also plan on using it as a pillow. Highly recommend!
