I was exited about this jacket, only to receive it with stains on it. The material is really thin and you can see the feathers inside. Super light though.
Flammable and poor quality that no one should pay for. Received this jacket as a Christmas present and wore it twice before it literally melted on my body and feathers started spewing out of it. Tried to contact Arcteryx and they sent me links to purchase another jacket and wouldn’t stand behind their product. After owning many high end jackets I am horrified how quickly this jacket split open and melted.
I am a hiker and I love the fit of this jacket. There is great range of motion in the shoulders. The jacket looks great too. I tried the Patagonia down sweater and this jacket and the Arcteryx was superior in fit. In terms of sizing, I bought an xl to allow for winter wool layers and it works great. I am a size 12-14. So possibly it runs aliitle small? At any rate, it is a perfect hiking jacket for winter.
The Arc'teryx zipper is very poor quality, shortly after purchase it wasn't zipping up and down correctly, splitting. One day it would not zip up or down, stuck in middle, wouldn't move even with force. I had to climb out of the jacket or I would have ripped zipper. Brought it back to store. Expensive nice lightweight with a cheap cheap zipper and I noticed everyone else talking about it as well. 2 stars. Would have loved the jacket but they can't even sew a proper zipper that works.
Arc'teryx put an inadequate zipper on this jacket. It is very hard or impossible to engage it properly to keep it from splitting open from the bottom. It's not an issue with a single jacket. They're all like this.
I am going to amend a previous review I wrote of loving the jacket for size, warmth, compressibility but had trouble with the zipper after 4 years of wear so lowered my review. However, I was able to retun the jacket at a local Arc'teryx store, they mailed it in for me for the zipper to replaced for free. Game changer. Now I continue to love this jacket.
Smart design, love how packable, all of those zipper pockets, adjustable helmet and hem to keep me warm. But quality doesn’t match up with how pricey this jacket is. After using it for a month, with causal usage (walking around town), the zipper and the cord for the adjustable hem broke!!
The zippers on the pockets are difficult to access and the main zipper is prone to separate, hard to engage sometimes. I would not buy it again, but it is warm.
