This is a great product for instant storage!
If you don't have a garage and tons of space to store a storage box, this is not only a great alternative, its actually better! It gives you tons of space in a light weight solution. Easy to inflate, easy to use, and looks pretty cool too!
Hoping For Great Experience
I bought this with to hopes that a can retire my old hardshell. My first time out was a trip from North Georgia to Palm Beach. Made an over night stop at the Fla GA border, at which time all was good. the next Norrington started the second leg of the trip. About a half hour down the road a noise started. It turned out that the straps needed tightening. no problem I should have done that before getting started. All was good for the next 3or so hours then the noise started again. This time, really bad. After stopping and accessing the problem, it turns out that it needed air. Not wanting to take the entire unit down I had my family assist withe holding the pump while I pumped it up. Another hour and half we made it to our destination only to find that it was again loosing air. I think that if your making a one day trip this is great. Also things happen and I think the manufacturer does put out a quality product but something a happened to mine. I returned it to the REI in South Florida and bought a alternative solution for the trip back home.
this rooftop carrier is fabulous!
I took this camping. There were five of us in a small SUV. I had a huge living room tent that sleeps 6. 3 three person tents. ( we were having guests) the cucoon inserts to keep us warm. Theyre big and bulky. A 2 room bathroom tent. All the bedding and bathroom and kitchen stuff. Fishing stuff. Food. A portable freezer and a good size yeti cooler. Toys. Floats. Scooters. Fishing rods. Clothes. All packed into this carrier and the back area of car. This packs like a soft sided suitcase so it holds a lot. It is BIG. I brought a ladder because the span is huge! People asked WHAT IS THAT! Took pictures. The customer service is awesome. I ordered directly from the company but it was not coming in time. Then I saw it here and I had a 20% coupon. I called and they said…go for it! And quickly refunded my money. I called several times. I decided to get a roof rack. Also ordered the roof pads. If I rent a car, i will make sure it doesn’t have a moon roof. My manufacturers brochure says do not put weight on the roof glass. Will nit support the weight. But i think the pads strategically placed would take care of that. I had problems with the zipper being hard to open. They corrected any previous issues with this second generation. By the end of the first day, no problem. They suggested Zipper Ease. Never needed it. I was so thrilled with this that I called after hours just to tell them how amazing this carrier is. They picked up! Hannah must have taken ten calls with questions ranging from when i ordered it and measured the car to what if i need a medium size and they said they would FedEx it. REI only had the large at that time. No worries. The pump is big. Don’t forget to take it with you. I never needed to add air for the 7 days. But just in case. Fantastic product. My son in law has a large Thule hung from the roof in the garage. He’s been eyeing this. Have a feeling it’s going to be on his car for skiing this winter. Wish I could post pictures!
